@JasonGregor And Podz is 116th in points per 60 which is squarely third line territory, despite playing with Leon.
I'd rather have someone who can score AND create in that role.
I hope Podz turns into the next Nichuskin. But he isn't now

The Oilers Jekyll and Hyde routine has been frustrating to watch. Their level of play has fluctuated wildly, but recent performances against Utah, Colorado and Vegas show that when they decide to commit to playing their system, they are quite good.

@lrm236 @JasonGregor The Oilers only hope is to play kids in top none roles, something that Knobloch has been reluctant to do unless truly desperate. If Savoie couldn't PK he wouldn't have made it either.
English

@GCW_69 @JasonGregor They have a great coach already. They need consistency and not firing every 2 years.
English

@JasonGregor Despite getting cherry minutes Podz has 33 points in 74 games.
Ideal world he's third line.
They need kids to knock some of Henrique, Jones, Fredrick, Lazar, off the roster and they need more EV scoring. They also need more speed. Have you watched Colorado lately?
English

@GCW_69 Podkolzin says hi. Name which other kid they have. Samanski is getting lots of opportunity, but he isn't more than a third line player right now. He shouldn't be playing much more
English

@GForceGordon @xpertfusion3 Go back to pre-MW2019 movement systems and you need less SBMM. Want crazy movement, casuals aren't going to play Open for long.
CoD has worked itself into a corner. Simplify the movement & those that have mastered omnmovement will be upset, but the game becomes more accessible
English

@GForceGordon @xpertfusion3 The skill gap in BO7 is wider than it's ever been with the movement system. The wider the skill gap the more you have to protect casual players. Otherwise they are going to leave for other options. It's not fun to be pub stomped regularly and so why hang around?

It's rare for a Stanley Cup contender to fire its coach this late in the season. But if the struggling Edmonton Oilers decide to go that route right now, Peter DeBoer would be a terrific fit, says @Michael_Traikos: thehockeynews.com/news/latest-ne…
English

@Bob_Stauffer @EdmontonOilers At this point if they don't try firing Knobloch and bringing in DeBoer they are basically writing off the season.

Effort and work rate were there for the @EdmontonOilers
EDM played a well-structured Tampa Bay team feeling it offensively.
Really liked Podkolzin-Dickinson-Kapanen, more than held their own.
Nurse-Murphy and Walman-Emberson pairings solid.
Lost Special Teams battle.
English

@TheCultofHockey @edmontonjournal Bowman has done nice work on the young free agent market but it doesn't matter if the coach has an almost obsessive preference for veterans regardless of on ice results and almost zero patience

@dstaples @TheCultofHockey @edmontonjournal It's not Ingram and Pickard. Pickard has been weak in Bakersfield.
It's time to throw Ungar in there and see what happens. His save percentage is well clear of the other options in Bakersfield. He may not be the answer but you have to give him the shot.

@wozy82 @Browndalorian That's not what the video says. Pretty much everyone outside of Edmonton says it's Nurse's fault
English

@GCW_69 @Browndalorian He hits nurse, nurse is looking other way and u protected
English

The more I watch this the more I realize this is all on Nate. None of this "Nurse pushes him into Ingram" bullshit, Nate skates through Nurse and into Ingram.
Gino Hard@GinoHard_
Nathan MacKinnon received a 5-minute major and a game misconduct for goaltender interference on Connor Ingram 🤕😬
English

@dstaples - you really think he was going to plow Ingram with his skates angled that way if left untouched?
Mark Rycroft@RycroftMark
This is the perfect angle. Mackinnon is angled away from Ingram. He’s one of the best skaters in the world. You don’t think he knows what to do. Garbage call all around. This should be no penalty. Nurse cause 100% of the contact

@TheCultofHockey @edmontonjournal I'm with those that believe the call was wrong (which seems to be what the majority of non-Oiler fan observers are saying). Looking at the overhead Mac's skates were turned away from Ingram until Nurse hit him. That's on Nurse.

@AllSkillX3D The movement speed in Bo6 and BO7 has killed the game. It's made the game less accessible to new and causal players by widening the skill gap too far. Sure, if you are high skilled it's great but for everyone else it's just frustrating and there are other options.
