🚨DISTURBING🚨 A man convicted of killing a 13-year-old girl after getting her pregnant has died in prison, officials say, in what appears to be a suicide. Jarvis Butts, 43, was found dead in his cell Wednesday at a prison in Jackson, Michigan. He had just started serving a 35–60 year sentence for the girl’s murder. Her body has never been found. Butts pleaded guilty in January 2024. Prosecutors said he had targeted the girl and had previously had children with her aunt. He was also serving an additional 10–15 years for sexually assaulting other children. Authorities said he had groomed the victim for about two years before killing her.

During the pandemic Newsom awarded a one billion dollar, no bid contract to China EV manufacturer BYD to make masks, even though the company had never manufactured masks or any health care supplies before. Newsom even paid them $500 million up front to help them get started before ultimately extending the contract past a billion dollars.
