🚨 Update: The Senate failed to concur with the House amendments to S1247. The bill is dead. It started as a weak Big Ag E-Verify bill. The House strengthened it with 287(g). The Senate chose to kill it rather than accept real enforcement.

Good to see the House do the right thing.
287g is great because it’s a very narrow program that helps local law enforcement while leaving them to do their jobs.
ISP signed a MOU with ICE to use the 287g program and they haven’t had issues.

🚨 UPDATE: S1247 PASSES HOUSE WITH 287(g) Here’s the reality: S1247 started as a weak, Big Ag backed E-Verify bill. We pushed hard alongside strong House conservatives to turn it into a real E-Verify enforcement bill. Big Ag and Big Construction blocked it. So the House pivoted and added a 287(g) radiator cap instead, with key leadership from Representatives @redmanforidaho and @DaleHawkinsID . If they won’t stop illegal labor at the hiring level, we enforce the law on the ground. That’s what this does. ⚠️ It requires law enforcement to cooperate with ICE and ALLOWS OPT OUTS ONLY WITH A PUBLIC EXPLANATION. That kind of transparency is exactly what the public wants. This is real progress and proof the pressure is working.

This entire case is a very simple question that's being overcomplicated.
"Does America get to decide who belongs to it, or is it forced to accept whoever arrives within its borders?"
If a polis isn't permitted to choose who may be a member or remain within its territory, then it doesn't really exist in any meaningful sense, and it's certainly not sovereign.
We're going to lose this country because "conservative" Supreme Court justices do not understand what time it is.

We must end birthright citizenship. Magic dirt theory is preposterous and is used by those who wish to destroy our country. Foreign governments use it as a way to subvert our laws and sovereignty.

Ending birthright citizenship for illegal aliens would remove one of the largest drivers of illegal immigration to our country. Without the shiny object of birth tourism, you would see it end almost overnight. Democrats are freaking out about this— because they not only want illegal immigration, but the future of their party depends on illegal immigration.
