@ThePOTSPostman I tried exercising with my POTS, before I became paralyzed with my MSA, and there was no way I could do it. I was lucky to make it from one exam room to another to see my patients. I dont understand drs who push exercise on pts who just can’t tolerate it. It is time to trust pt.

Me: doc I used to love powerlifting and hitting the gym but it’s so hard for me to physically do that now. Doc: have you tried to gradually increase exercise? Me:

@NathanKeown1 @Bryan_Duncan Thank you for showing you care. As an MD I knew patients were afraid of dying alone and being forgotten. As the patient now, I am having to live this. All of you have made a difference. Thank you.

#ToMy25Friends say hello to Danita @GDBagwellMD she’s the most inspiring courageous woman that I know. Like a family member I call her “Lucy” the way they do. I just noticed that she’s on here. The nurse is probably reading to her.. 🙏 🤚

I want to thank all of you who have sent me cards and books that have brightened my days. It feels good to know I have not been forgotten and that so many of you care about me. MSA is a hard battle to fight and I know it is terminal. I know I am not fighting it alone.

@RollyRollison I had that thought today and I thought it was pretty brilliant of me and I’ve gotten what five likes. Nobody loves me. Everybody hates me. Think I’ll go in the garden and eat some worms. 😂

@panagis21 I wish I had the answers. To be honest I have had a hard time getting into the holiday spirit since my son died. He did all of my decorating for me. Take time for you to grieve and decide the best way for you to celebrate the season. I don’t have family to spend it with.

I want every single one of you to know that I am here for you. I know that not everyone has a rabbi to turn to (or you have a rabbi, but you still want my opinion), so please don’t hesitate to message me if you ever need. I am more than happy to help if I can!

@wittmer0313 @jeremykauffman @PanopticonBot The city where my daughter lives has that law, yet there are homeless people in all of the parks, near the stores and sleeping on city benches which were once bus benches. She can’t take my granddaughter to the park any longer.

@jeremykauffman @PanopticonBot The best idea is to enforce that they can’t camp in public areas in cities and provide them with absolutely nothing. Work and be productive, or go camp in the wilderness and fend for yourself.

The SF Chronicle covered what happens when you just give the homeless housing: - They live in squalor - They fight and kill each other - They die of drug overdoses - They get evicted for failure to follow basic rules - They threaten and abuse staff

You’re absolutely right about all of this. The DEA choke points at the manufacturer, distributor & pharmacy levels are creating so many barriers for patients & additional work for physicians & their staff (needing to write a new script for patient to fill at another pharmacy). Something has got to give

Here's a piece I reported for @Harpers about the plight of chronic pain sufferers in America. It's story of medical abandonment, destructive drug policy, and the nightmare of untreated pain, as insurers refuse to cover essential care. harpers.org/archive/2018/0…
