This morning, I requested officials to urgently investigate allegations that EPWP participants in the Bojanala District Municipality were forced to perform domestic work for a MMC and pay political membership fees to their party.
If true, this would represent a serious abuse of power and a betrayal of the purpose of the EPWP, which exists to create dignified, skills-based work opportunities for unemployed South Africans, not to serve personal or political interests.
EPWP is too important to too many communities to be abused which is why we must protect it from misuse.

A new trend in the Western Cape, both DA and ANC Councillors are selling wards to the PA. Each Councillor receives R100 000, then resigns and contests under the banner of the PA. It started in Swellendam, ANC provincial treasure Derrick Apple influenced the ward councilor to resign and stand for the PA while telling ANC members in Swellendam to vote for PA while wearing ANC t-shirts. The sad thing about this, it will discourage communities from voting because this bad tendency is happening under community watch. It's time for IEC to deregister political parties that engage in criminal activities as this has the potential of destroying the already compromised credibility of our voting system.
