Today is #WorldMalariaDay. After years of progress, the fight against malaria has stalled – putting millions of lives at risk. Now we must act with focus – strengthen partnerships (like the @GlobalFund) , sustain investment & support country-led solutions to get back on track.

Access changes everything. For Krystal Birungi (@XtalBirungi), growing up meant navigating the realities of malaria at home. When prevention and treatment became available in her community, it changed what was possible. Fewer illnesses, more time in school, and a different path forward. That experience now shapes her work in fighting malaria. At the Gates Foundation, we partner with organisations like The @GlobalFund to expand access to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, while investing in new tools to stay ahead of the disease.
