A thousand people showed up in Traverse City, Michigan today to line the streets in protest ICE. It was below freezing. Snow everywhere. Sunday afternoon. Michigan is a swing state. This isn’t Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids or Detroit. And 1,000 people still came out. That’s an enormous share of the local population showing up to one protest, especially in below-freezing weather.

I publish a news report every day, and pay out of pocket for the premium subscription to write longer text posts. However, out of the 44k subscribers I have on here, my posts are barely even seen by even a thousand people each day. Fighting the algorithm is quite literally impossible, and posts that aren't rage bait go nowhere. Just the way it is, I've kinda accepted it at this point.

I'm going to ask for a Christmas present this tear for all of us who get our news from X. @elonmusk @nikitabier, is there any way we can prevent throttling posts if they are being throttled (many believe they are) for using common non offensive words? It's getting ridiculous reading headlines that say "National guard member was sh*t and k**led today with a g*n. The motive of the sh**ter is unknown." I don't necessarily believe these words are being throttled, but it'd be awesome if people were told they aren't. Playing Wheel of Fortune and trying to buy a vowel every time you read a headline I'd ridiculous. It makes all these headline news pages nearly unreadable.
