In Vinnytsia, Ukraine, a female stork was widowed when her mate died. She is incubating her eggs and is unable to feed herself. Local residents have started feeding her.

From grok analysis: The post by @oldnorthpack07 is a reply dismissing concerns about tree removal for housing in North Carolina, stating there are more trees today than 100 years ago due to reduced farming. • Nationally, U.S. forest volume has increased markedly since the 1920s, with growth exceeding harvests since the 1940s and nearly quadrupling by the late 1990s, as abandoned farmland reverted to forest. • In North Carolina, forests cover about 61% of the state with timber growth outpacing harvest, though recent decades show a modest net tree cover decline of 1.7% from 2000-2020 amid development pressures. Farms are fine, I am for farms, but not crazy development of apartments around triangle area

@GMenzeleeva @NC_Governor Hate to tell you. But there’s more trees today than 100 years ago. Because less farming. Sooooo. Maybe educate yourself a bit.

People want to live in North Carolina, and our housing market is not keeping up. We can and must do more to increase housing supply and strengthen the construction workforce that will build it. Today I signed an executive order directing a whole-of-government approach and hired a Senior Advisor for Housing Policy to lead this work to make more homes of all types more accessible and affordable for all North Carolinians.

Yesterday, russia killed a young couple in Kyiv. Maryna Homenyuk, 24 — English teacher, polyglot, a woman who inspired children every day. Yurii Orlov, 30 — athlete, captain, rehabilitologist, a man who built strength and hope in others. They weren’t soldiers. They weren’t a target. They were building a life together. russia didn’t just strike a building. It destroyed a future. We will remember their names.

Today’s attacks on humanitarian workers are war crimes. The world cannot accept this as normal. Too many aid workers have died like this around the world. Russia is a permanent member of the UN Security Council but it attacks UN and WCK vehicles in Kherson, Ukraine. While the aid workers survived unharmed, one resident died. This war needs to end now. The suffering needs to end now. We are an American-based NGO @realDonaldTrump @FLOTUS @SecRubio #ChefsForUkraine

Ukraine observed a May 9 ceasefire requested by Putin to allow Russia’s parade to proceed. Days later, Russia launched a massive strike on Kyiv, killing at least eight people, including a child.

Rubio declares that U.S. efforts to negotiate between Russia and Ukraine "has not led to a fruitful outcome for a variety of reasons" and have now "stagnated." Really? Maybe they stagnated because the strategy of pressuring the victim to surrender to an aggressor, who would almost certainly murder us under occupation, was stillborn from the start. Perhaps, instead, you could try putting pressure on Russia and arming Ukraine to make this war unbearable for the ones actually choosing to wage it every day?

It will be monumentally hilarious if, amid all this drama, Ukraine ultimately choses not to strike the “victory day parade” in Moscow at all -- but instead uses the opportunity to hit exposed military factories and oil terminals all across European Russia, precisely in those areas where air defenses had been pulled away to shield Putin’s trembling ass for 20 minutes in the open air.

I’m Nikopol, a city in Ukraine where the Russians are intensifying their attacks on civilians. The situation is getting worse every day. While the Kremlin tries to sanitise its image this week at Venice Biennale, It’s vital people see the war crimes they are committing

The Russian air defense across Russia is increasingly overwhelmed to counter the Ukrainian air campaign. The situation in Russia's South, most notably in and around Tuapse, is currently the most prominent example, but it is happening across the country. What was once Russia advantage, its size, has become a liability. The Russian regime has to make compromises, and this is protecting Moscow at all costs while abandoning other parts of Russia. However, in Moscow it is dawning that even the capital is at risk of being successfully struck, no matter whether Russian rust buckets are rolling or not. This is why Putin made the pathetic offer for having a truce on May 9. It is as transparent as it can get: Russians are very afraid. Moscow might get soon into the cross hairs, but this isn't even the worst for Putin. The Russian regime will have to allocate huge amount of air defense assets to the capital and by doing so exposing the rest of the country. And there is not much they can do.

I don't have a huge amount of followers and I don't think my posts are seen much. I ask for prayers. I had breast cancer 3 years ago and went through treatment. I have now found another lump. I go in for tests Wednesday. Please pray God removes the cancer from me. Thank you.
