Donald Trump must understand that Nigeria is a sovereign nation and you just can't drop bombs in Nigeria when you feel like. Northwest Nigeria is a highly populated region and the possibility of innocent casualties is endless. The Nigerian Government must respond to this!

50,000-100,000 Christians have been murdered in Nigeria since 2009. 7,000 Christians have been martyred this year. Thats 35 murders per day. No more. Thank you @POTUS, for your incredible leadership in defending persecuted Christians in Nigeria, and for trusting me to lead this effort in the House alongside Chairman Tom Cole. Alleged Genocide: My Stance On President Trump’s Statement I wish to state, firstly, that Nigeria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions must be respected by all. At the same time, I fully support any collaborative action aimed at eradicating the murderous bands of terrorists who have wantonly slaughtered thousands of our countrymen and women — Christians, Muslims, and people of other faiths alike. For almost 15 years, jihadist terrorist groups such as Boko Haram and affiliates of ISWAP, ISIS, al-Qaeda, and, more recently, groups like Lakurawa and Wulowulo, have wreaked unimaginable havoc. They introduced suicide bombing in Nigeria and began a murderous campaign, especially in Borno State, from which it gradually spread across the northeastern part of our country. Places of worship — both churches and mosques, as well as palaces and traditional rulers have not been spared in their bloodbath. School children have been kidnapped, killed, or forcefully married off. The victims of these jihadist attacks, which began in Borno, were Muslims and Christians. As fundamentalist groups opposed to Western education, these terrorists have consistently targeted schools and students, leading to the abductions of the Chibok girls, Dapchi girls, and Buni Yadi school children, among others. Till today, Nigeria has not fully accounted for the whereabouts of many of these students — for instance, Leah Sharibu and some Chibok girls remain missing. Universities and their students have also suffered attacks, and these terrorist groups still maintain footholds and control territories within Nigeria. In states such as Borno, Zamfara, and Katsina, according to accounts from government officials and community leaders, these terrorists continue to control territories, impose taxes on locals, and generally exercise authority — by their own rules, not by the laws of the Nigerian state or the Constitution. This is a direct affront to Nigeria’s sovereignty and should not be tolerated any further. President Trump’s statement is a wake-up call to action. If the Nigerian government is unable to address this issue effectively, then it must collaborate with those who can help us flush out these terrorists. At the Senate, my colleagues and I have repeatedly raised these issues, even beyond the floor of the Senate. Hardly a week passes without a member of the Senate drawing attention to reports of killings and attacks on villages in one constituency or the other. The Senate has paid countless tributes in memory of those killed, as well as several suggestions and proposals to the Executive, including the proposal for a National Security Summit to be held soon. Most recently, the Senate took a motion and directed its leadership to interface with the President to dispatch a non-partisan team of experts and statesmen to Washington D.C. Even states that were once considered safe zones have now been affected, as the insurgency, banditry, and terrorism have spread to places like Sokoto, Zamfara, Taraba, Katsina, Niger, and even Kwara. Everyone in Nigeria knows that in the Middle Belt regions of Benue and Plateau, and also in Southern Kaduna, the coordinated massacres of innocent citizens by marauding terrorists and bandits, coupled with the displacement of Indigenous communities, have been going on for many years. Some of the footages of the carnage are unimaginable, while efforts by government and security agencies have clearly not been effective in tackling the menace.

Yesterday evening, Wednesday, 5th November, I visited the College of Nursing Sciences, Iyienu, Ikenga Ogidi, where I met with huge number of students of Medical Sciences Nursing, Midwifery, Medical Lab, Dentistry, and other related fields. I spoke to them about the importance of education and healthcare, reminding them that their chosen professions are essential to the service of humanity. I also made a ₦15 million donation to support their institution. No nation can rise beyond the quality of its education and healthcare systems. These two sectors remain the most effective tools for lifting people out of poverty and building a productive society. When we invest in education and healthcare, we empower minds and preserve lives. My commitment is to continue prioritizing these sectors, not as acts of charity, but as a deliberate investment in our shared future and in building a Nigeria where every citizen has the opportunity to prosper. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE WE’RE ENGAGING THE WORLD DIPLOMATICALLY, PRESIDENT TINUBU TELLS FEDERAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday in Abuja, stated that Nigeria remains on a steady growth trajectory, with more promise of stability and prosperity as economic reforms continue to yield results and gain national and international acceptance. The President spoke at the Federal Executive Council after the swearing-in of two ministers, Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro, and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh (SAN). Doro will manage the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, while Udeh will oversee the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology. On the current state of the economy and the relationship between Nigeria and the United States, President Tinubu assured that the Federal Government was engaging with the world diplomatically. “The most important thing is the fact that despite the political headwinds and the fear of our people, we will continue to engage with partners. “The success of the $2.3 billion eurobond that was oversubscribed by 400% is the most assuring. So, the task ahead is immense; we are engaging the world diplomatically, and we assure all of you that we will defeat terrorism in this country. “The task ahead is immense, but it is our resolve to move forward with unity and purpose, guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda to build a prosperous, inclusive and resilient Nigeria." On the security challenges facing the country, President Tinubu, as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, charged Nigerians not to succumb to despair, assuring that the government will defeat every form of terrorism and secure every part of the country. He called Ministers and other officials to ensure consistency in communication and avoid discordant messaging. "Do we have problems? Yes. Are we challenged by terrorism? Yes. But we will defeat terrorism. We will overcome the CPC designation. Nigeria is one happy family, and we shall spare no effort until we eliminate all criminals from our society. We want our friends to help us as we step up our fight against terrorism, and we will eliminate it," President Tinubu assured. During the cabinet meeting, President Tinubu, who directed Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, to brief the Council on the nation's economic performance, stated that the government will continue to sustain and consolidate the gains. Earlier in his address, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy noted that the macroeconomic indicators showed the economy had picked up, with one of the best results in the last decade. Edun said: "The reforms that have been taken under your Renewed Hope Agenda, so bold and sometimes unpopular, are rooted in a clear objective to build a competitive economy that attracts, creates jobs and lifts millions out of poverty. “In Q2 2025, Nigeria's GDP grew by 4.23%, the highest in a decade, outside the COVID rebound. Thirteen sectors recorded growth above 7% up from nine sectors in the previous quarter. “The industrial sector nearly doubled its growth from 3.72% to 7.45%, reflecting rising productivity and investor confidence. Inflation eased to 18.02% in September 2025. As we know, foreign exchange reserves topped $43 billion, and our trade surplus reached N7.4 trillion. “Clear examples of macroeconomic stability, as the consumer spending basket published earlier this year shows, our citizens now spend maybe about half of the income on basic needs, food, shelter and clothing, as compared with almost 90% previously. “This signals a country moving from subsistence towards productivity and indeed affluence.’’ The minister said the vision of reaching a one trillion dollar economy by 2030 was achievable by pursuing a 7% annual growth and a commitment to ending poverty as a moral imperative. “Nigeria's removal from the Financial Action Task Force Grey List marks a major milestone in strengthening our financial integrity and confidence. “At the recent World Bank/IMF annual meetings, global leaders commended our reforms, our progress and the revised IMF growth forecast of up to nearly 4% and improved credit ratings,’’ the minister added. He said there was an urgency to mobilise domestic resources and provide investment to finance infrastructure, as well as drive sustainability and job-rich growth. Yesterday's hugely successful $2.35 billion Eurobond issuance, in which the order book peaked at over $13 billion, is a testament to continued investor confidence in our country, our reform agenda and Mr President's leadership. “Despite the political headwinds which we are all aware of, the market shrugged off those political considerations and focused on the economic fundamentals of Nigeria’’ he stated. For greater inclusivity, Edun urged ministers overseeing sectors such as infrastructure, mining, education, health, agriculture, the blue economy, digital innovation, arts, and culture to collaborate with sub-national governments to identify and package projects that meet investor expectations. “Every Naira must be optimised to sustain momentum amid global liquidity constraints. Where there is less funding from multilateral institutions, we must rely on our own resources. The next phase of reforms will remove barriers holding back investors. We will review tariffs and import restrictions to stimulate productivity and investment,’’ he said. Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy) November 6, 2025

China has proven to be a faithful and unwavering ally and friend of Nigeria. Its a country that has opened its doors to our citizens and make available its resources for our infrastructures.Despite our people being denied visa and deported from other countries, even within Africa,it refused to accept the stigmatisation of our country as one of drug and cyber criminals. This is well appreciated and should not be taken for granted.Chinese solidarity and voice for our sovereignty at this time will forever be noted in our history. I wish to appeal to China NOT to emulate the policy of assessment of people’s social media history before granting them visa and I wish to appeal to my countrymen not to compel them towards that direction.
