Addis Ababa in Ethiopia 🇪🇹 - YES, this is Africa! The speed at which this city is developing without begging for aids is unbelievable. An undisputed African Giant and undoubtedly one of the Big 3 of Africa.

To my fellow Eritreans: when PP cadres use the term 'refugee' as an insult, remind them that migration is a shared reality. There are 57,000 Ethiopians in Egypt living as immigrants, 500,000 in South Africa & hundreds of thousands more across the globe, from the US to the Gulf.

Ethiopia, a landlocked country with no coastline, has taken the bold step of hosting a high-level conference on Red Sea affairs under the slogan “Inclusive Maritime Governance.” The irony hasn’t gone unnoticed. Despite the grand theme, nearly every country that actually borders the Red Sea-#Eritrea, #Djibouti, #SaudiArabia, #Egypt, #Yemen, #Sudan, and #Somalia-was absent from the guest list. In what critics are calling a masterclass in “inclusivity without participants,” the event has raised eyebrows across the region. Observers say the forum feels less like a serious maritime summit and more like a landlocked brainstorming session about waves where theory sails freely, but reality never even docks. At this point, it may as well earn a place in the “Guinness Book of Records” for the first-ever conference on inclusive maritime governance held without a single coastline nation in the room.

@hgdefK Using your own plate or sharing doesn't make you better or less better than anyone. It's how you treat people. There can be people who are sharing a plate with you that are planning to rob you that same night. This is superficial nonsense

There are some of us in the diaspora who never shared one big plate with their family or friends before. And some who used to as kids, but now think they’re too good, so need their own plate…

#Afar #LangueAfar #HornOfAfrica #BabElMandeb #MerRouge #Ethiopie #Djibouti #Erythree

"Ethiopia’s landlockedness has not only led to the loss of vital economic opportunities but has also diminished its regional role. Ethiopia has a historical right and strategic importance in the Red Sea." No. Ethiopia lost access to the Red Sea by recognising Eritrea in 1993
Ethiopian News Agency@EthiopianNewsA

Ethiopia’s pursuit of sovereign access to the #RedSea is not solely a national ambition but a strategic vision aligned with regional integration and the African Union’s Agenda 2063, Vice Admiral Kindu Gezu, Commander-in-Chief of the Ethiopian Navy, said. ena.et/web/eng/w/eng_…

@MeghUpdates Iran alone can’t claim full control over a strait as the other sides have rights over international waters. They wouldn’t agree for it. Only tankers which get oil and gas from Iran can be forced by it. This deal will not work.

BREAKING: Iran, Oman to charge fees in Strait of Hormuz, Iran to use funds for reconstructions. If Iran charges $2 Million in tolls for every ship that passes the Strait of Hormuz — which it has been doing for the past month — it would generate approximately $8 Billion in monthly revenue, or about $96 Billion annually This would increase Iran’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from $475 Billion to $571 Billion, a 20% increase.

Ethiopia, country without a coastline, decides to host a high-level discussion on Red Sea affairs. Slogan? “Inclusive maritime governance.” Whats the reality? Most of the actual Red Sea stakeholders didn’t make the guest list. No Eritrea, no Djibouti, no Saudi Arabia, no Egypt, no Yemen, no Sudan, no Somalia. So what you get isn’t really a maritime forum it’s more like a policy roundtable about the sea, held far from any shore, where the concept matters more than the reality.

Let’s not kid ourselves it’s not only PP or Oromo cadres seeking access to our sea. When it comes to our ports, Tigray, Amhara, Oromo, and Gurage groups are no different they could turn against us at any moment. We need to remain vigilant as we always have. #Eritrea #Ethiopia

@martinplaut Not only Ethiopia has historical right, but also under international law-order, ethnically this coastal land belongs to the Ethiopian-Afars& people who live around the periphery.Highlander-Eretrians,who dominate the politics should come to their senses & resolve this peacefully.
