This is an outdated graphic on the right side but Steyn was a freak outlier. He’s absolutely a top 10 cricketer of the 21st century. Very underrated T20 bowler too.

Pakistan have been ‘brown washed’ by Bangladesh - incidentally twice now, back to back as Bangladesh first blanked then 2-0 in Pakistan and now 2-0 at home. This could be the lowest in Tests for Pakistan. Once the fast-bowling powerhouse, Pakistan is now turning up in Tests with medium pacers and that’s the underline. #PakvsBan

The guys above have way bigger bodies of work in tests often at higher averages.
Pollock only one to have less runs because of apartheid but still 60 average.

I think this is where the word greatest gets muddled, you can obviously make a very strong argument that Steyn was a better bowler than Anderson for example, but in terms of greatness an extra 265 test wickets and a t20 World Cup feel like quite big things to ignore…
