I’ve had some abuse recently over my post asking for people to put water out for our wildlife. Some pathetic comments saying that wildlife can always find water and I am being over dramatic. Lisa Marie Riddell, 32, has been banned from keeping animals for a decade after RSPCA officers discovered one dog dead and another severely neglected on her boat and in a nearby outbuilding. Milo, a Labrador‑cross entrusted to Riddell by someone who believed she would care for him, was found dead on the boat, his body wrapped in a sheet. RSPCA officers reported his ribs, spine and hips were clearly visible — a devastating indication of prolonged starvation. Scooby, Riddell’s own Staffie, was found shut inside a disused toilet block near the boat. He was: 🔹 Severely underweight 🔹 Coated in faeces 🔹 Extremely nervous and withdrawn 🔹 Given a body condition score of 2/9 (emaciated) Scooby weighed just 17kg and, despite veterinary care, his trauma was so severe that behaviourists concluded he could not be safely rehomed. At Birmingham Magistrates’ Court, Riddell admitted three Animal Welfare Act offences.
