@LaundryQueen__ @exALEXANDRIA People can’t see the issue with low birth rates because the consequences are in the future. Japan’s GDP hasn’t grown since the mid 90s. Japan’s fertility rates have/will lead to its irrelevance globally. Nations need workers (people) to prosper.

One reason I don't take religious conservatives seriously on sex and marriage stuff is that 99.99% of them have never admitted they or their movement was wrong about homosexuality.

@BernkeNoBread @MargaretPBrady @ZaxxonGalaxian @dilanesper Marriage requires openness to procreation (also why contraception is illicit). An infertile straight couple is open to procreation. Gay relations are inherently closed to procreation. Notably, a straight couple who physically cannot have sex also can’t be considered married.

@ZaxxonGalaxian @dilanesper Marriage is an insoluble bond between a man and a woman for mutual support and procreation. Treating gay marriage as marriage obviously (further) undermines what marriage is. But again, this concept of marriage was already toast, so normies never saw gay marriage as a problem

@GWash509 @dilanesper They were totally wrong. How did gay marriage negatively affect straight marriage? And if marriage as a concept is good for people and society, why can’t gays do it too?

@DanZangrilli @_SportsBall_ America’s game should be capitalistic in nature. It’s perfect. If you are a small market team… tough. Either force management to spend more, force management out, or get really efficient. No need for top down market manipulation to help otherwise poor teams.

@CharlesFLehman The real issue is under employment. Increasing amount of college graduates begin with jobs that have never required college degrees.

@GWash509 @ClarenceMaximus 2) Their authority derives from the public agreeing that what they are doing is “judging”. If the Supreme Court had 9 KBJ’s (even if legally appointed) it would have no authority, because no one would care what it has to say. We know she isn’t judging, but doing what she wants

That one tweet about the left pretending to not understand things, thus making discourse impossible, apparently also applies to post-libs. Because he’s far too smart to think that this works as a response to anything I said.
Adrian Vermeule@Vermeullarmine

After long consideration, I’ve decided that legal texts must be declared irrelevant to judicial decisionmaking. After all — wait for it, here comes the key point — we don’t all agree what they mean. There are many decisions in which the Court splits 5 to 4 about what the ordinary meaning of the text is. Who’s to say? Who decides?

@medstudent717 @ClarenceMaximus 1.) Why can’t judges work out disagreements re the public good? That is what politics is all about, and judges are part of our political system. 2.) They get their authority from being a judge. Judges not executing their rulings ≠ Judges don’t have authority to rule

@ClarenceMaximus Imo the “interests of the American people” standard is bad for 2 reasons 1) U have no means of working out disagreements with fellow judges 2) The judge has no inherent authority to make this determination. The public could tell u to kick rocks & u have nothing to say in response

@UrbanCourtyard @ArtemisConsort That bit of Dallas is a block away from an incredibly "walkable, amenity-rich, green neighboorhood". Parks, shopping, residential, mixed-use buildings, museums... Dallas has issues, but it's not a lack of these areas.

@ClayTravis Obviously yes. Men’s soccer is not quite this bad but it’s also becoming an issue. American universities should be primarily focused on providing educational and athletic opportunities for Americans

Should US colleges have a minimum number of US born athletes on their teams receiving scholarships? Legit debate we should have. Look at men’s tennis numbers below, nearly 90% foreign born.
Patrick McEnroe@PatrickMcEnroe

Congrats to TCU, Texas, Wake Forest and Virginia on reaching the NCAA men’s tennis Final Four. By my count: 24 singles starters. 3 from the USA. It’s not about one school or one match. It’s about the overall numbers — and what they mean for the American college tennis pathway.

Congress should just adopt maximum compactness from 2028 on and have done with it. Balancing multiple goals at once (party share, “communities of interest,” etc) means endless room for mischief. Just take the discretion out of the system.
Hunter📈🌈📊@StatisticUrban

If you just took a computer algorithm and made the country's maps compact, ignoring all else, you arguably end up in a healthier democracy than we have right now.

@ForePlayPod No excuse for being late. HOWEVER….. it’s completely insane that you get a 2 shot penalty of being a second late but it’s nearly impossible to get penalized for playing a round of golf in 5.5 hours.

@_Samuel_1932 @the_transit_guy About 3% of Dallas uses public transit to get to work because it is both unreliable and services a very small percentage of city. Which is my whole point. That should be the focus. High speed rail can then follow because it would then be convenient to use.

@Matheu01787589 @the_transit_guy Bus options exist for those routes. Additionally, many (most maybe) students at those schools have cars on campus because of the lack of public transit. Never going to get enough benefit to make that worth it. Focus on local transit first. Without it, high speed rail doesn’t work

@kremlincardinal @TaylorTwellman Doesn’t matter if his hand is in between his head and the ball. It’s not intentional, and his hand is not making himself bigger. His hand also got between his head and the ball due to contact from a Celtic player

@TaylorTwellman What say you, Taylor? The MOST compelling evidence I've seen for a handball is this moment, where to me, at least, it does look like maybe his hand was between the ball and his head

@TaylorTwellman Accidental handballs that in no way disadvantage the offense should not be a penalty. Way too many games are decided this. Completely ruins the game.
