D2 Associate Head Coach in Florida: Saw your post quoting the Texas D1 coach. 100% the consensus from everyone I know. The quick response from those outside our circles is “well you have 13-15 scholarships they all won’t play. Give that to a HS kid.” The reality is a lot of people are not filling their rosters completely & using that money to pay players more. Also, HS signees that don’t play usually transfer anyway so development is not even a good response to why take a HS that can’t help immediately. I know you get this but the “my kid is getting slept on” crew is annoying lol
