@NairobiLoop @Switchkenya @KKombani I see. The only thing I still struggle to resonate with is why it isn't possible to direct all this traffic (including government) to your cheaper reseller/retailer and let the premium sellers deal with their clientele...

@GabrielOnyango_ @Switchkenya @KKombani Shida si extra cut. Shida ni numbers, like I've mentioned. 20k copies at 1k will give him far lesser than 100k copies at 750 bob. Price, if the books are meant to be used in school, schools and the government will prioritize cheaper ones that would still serve the purpose.

@Wordslinger__ He doesn't have all the info. Like how much Oxford Publishing sold it to Kibanga (638 Ksh)

@kagondu_yvonne @KKombani @B3laze 2. Also at the point of pricing the author has taken these abstract things you are mentioning "worth" etc and decided on a margin that works best for them given their foresight. To deliberately ignore this to prove to them their worth when it doesn't flow to them is bonkers

For years I've been complaining about your pricing for my books I can't tell you what to price your stock, but if you overprice my books don't tag me - I don't want to look like I am part of the rip off. This is not just for 'Dear Mama' - See email from 2024.

If I'm not wrong, the arrangement is that Kombani eats something from each copy sold by kibanga- I've published a book, and that's an agreement I had. Kwa hivo, if the book is so overpriced, it keeps off readers and buyers. How will he then make money? It's better to sell the book at 750 and get 100k buyers a year, than sell it at 1k and get only 20k buyers. It's called economics of sales if I'm remembering form 2 business studies by one Madam Margret, 2011.

@SimonBrundish But Arne was saying they were working to get him able to play full-time . Even Hugo in interviews said it was hard work and not always enjoyable. So whatever he had been doing before Liverpool took a lower toll than the work at Liverpool. So might want to check for this info.

@TOPCHEFSIE @SimonBrundish In basketball we've had record cases of achilles injuries but the health tech has advanced so much that Jason Tatum just returned to action in less than a year. Everyone thought he wouldn't... He did the surgery within 24 hours of injury..

Does anyone remember Cheick Doucoure? He was a CDM at Crystal Palace a few years ago and almost everyone wanted him, including Liverpool at one point. The prices quoted for him were eye watering. He did his Achilles tendon in a couple of seasons ago and has hardly been seen since. I sincerely hope I am wrong, because I do really like Hugo as a player, but if he returns at all, I would not have high hopes that he will be able to hit the same levels again. This would be tragic but it is a very real possibility.

@EssixGalaxy @rokhladnik Yes, this...👆🏿 I'm assuming you use the post ID? Cause I think this is what saved me during Black Friday. The thing was not spending, launched a concurrent engagement ad with the sale ad using the same post ID. It sailed through beautifully.

@rokhladnik We do it enough time to know that once Meta sees a new banger, the banger WILL get spend... its just competes with a mass of engagement that old ads, so you run engagement camapign for 50-200 bucks before launching for conversions

If your setup is fully consolidated (1 CBO, no Min/Max spend): Meta will push ~95% of spend into 2–3 ads Everything else won't get any spend Even if you refresh your creatives weekly or whatever the frequency is, it's highly likely none of those ads will get any sort of significant spend Now, those of you who have been doing this for a long time, and have experience scaling brands, not just being account managers and adding zeros to budgets Tell me how many businesses have you taken from 1M → 100M, with only 2–3 creatives carrying the whole account? Especially for brands with hundreds of SKUs, dozens of categories, not just one hero product or one hero creative angle? And by scale, I don't mean that you scaled those CBO campaigns for a week or two, but scaling a brand over a couple of years from 6 to 9 figs? But Meta knows best, right? Right. Buy my course. Have a great weekend.

I have spent over $20m on @Meta ads. Had my profile since 2013. Never had any ads rejected. Never used my profile for anything but ads manager. Then wake up permanently banned with no email, no appeal, no reason. I need help getting my profile back.

You’re blowing $6k+/mo on ads, so why are your prospects broke and unqualified?… Why do they not pick up your setter's calls? Why do they no-show your calls? It's EASY Your pixel is trained on the wrong people. And it gets worse with each day your ads are up I spent the past weekend packaging EVERYTHING I KNOW about conditioning your pixel to eliminate unqualified leads and train Meta to find your best buyers… Into a 15-page master pixel conditioning masterclass. NO FLUFF or theoretical BS This is pulled from our ad accounts and is quite literally a step-by-step blueprint People pay us 5-figures $$$$ to implement this stuff. Inside, I reveal: - The core problem most businesses ignore when running paid ads - How to write ad messaging that filters bad leads BEFORE they ever click - The landing page congruence rules that qualify prospects before they book - How to structure your Typeform to route + reject unqualified leads automatically - The exact pixel event setup that trains Meta to find “buyers.” - CRM-triggered CAPI fires and warm audience exclusions for advanced signal quality - The full pre-launch pixel conditioning checklist - Plus TONNES more stuff I've used this EXACT framework to fix lead quality for businesses spending $5k-$100k+/mo on ads. (and now I'm giving it away FREE for the next 48 hours) To receive → Like + Comment "Pixel" [Must be following or I can't DM]

@Shad_khalif That is good to know. I've always been against this, even though I know for centuries we had spice streets and textile corners. Even countries like Iran where some trades have gone on for generations, bado wana hizo streets. This adds context.

@Mukstastic @vomvoz @whiteafrican Shopify is in the website tech industry, bt 70% of income is from financial technology services. Disney is in the movie business, but merchandising off the intellectual property ya vipindi is about 20% ya revenue. Amazon, I think pesa yao majorly haitoki kwa ecommerce saa hii.

@Mukstastic @vomvoz @whiteafrican Curious why u believe this: "Huwezi sema unauzia watu njugu, but sijui you need to rent air on the side to make the business maths work." If the math works, why shouldn't you? Twitter was loss-making, but using conversation data to train AI makes the biz model work. So why not?

This is a genuine tragedy, Greg and his team did all the right things to succeed. Kenya can’t complain about jobs & revenue while burying businesses in red tape. KOKO built real infrastructure with $300M invested, ~700 jobs, and 1.3M households served, and a stalled govt approval for carbon-credit sales killed them. moseskemibaro.com/2026/01/31/the…
