@doqholliday "Last remaining years"? Lol. 60's and 70's is NOT last remaining years. Is that what you think of your own parents? They are just a waste of space now? Wow. My dad is still having a nice retirement at 82. He volunteers and is active. My mom didn't pass until her 80's.

@doqholliday Most boomers are broke and more & more are still workin full & part time at 65 because they didn’t save enough for retirement. For those with resources, I know of no one in my circle that doesn’t support their adult children and or grandchildren significantly.

@doqholliday I have property that I purchased SPECIFICALLY with 2 houses on it so my children & grands are @ 500 feet from me, I homeschool my grands & cook ALL the meals..NOT because I have to, or its morally correct, but because I LOVE THEM, I would DIE without them, & they ALL are MINE!!!

This is my family too. Born and raised in Canada. 67 yrs. Before the 1960s, family members lived together. Often a farming community. No daycare issue. Kids had grandparents. Moms often stayed home because one income was enough. North America judges me now. I proudly reject it.

@doqholliday My mother left me her home. I lived with her the last 10 years of her life. I will pass it on to my son who has been living with and helping me since an auto accident in 2018. We take care of each other.

@doqholliday This!! My son lives in the same house with me right now and will inherit it mortgage-free. He is on disability and my will provides he will always receive disability benefits despite inheriting a sizeable asset. His father (my ex) financially helped us do this. Life is short.

If you're a boomer in your 60s and 70s and you own property and are well off but your children are struggling and can't even buy a home, what the hell are you doin? Your time is over. It's their time. Help them. Be a good parent, do whatever it is you need to do... sell the house if you need to, give them some kickbacks to help buy their first home, etc. Life is short. Be a good parent and don't squat on stuff that doesn't matter. Give them their time.

I think we underestimate how many people are hanging on by a single, fraying thread, and how, some days, the only things saving them from the abyss are the small comforts of a TV show that feels like home, a book that tells you you’re not alone, or a pet that needs you.

Please Read! On May 8, 1965, more than a year after Kennedy’s death, Dwight D. Eisenhower did something that revealed just how deeply the loss still weighed on him. Despite his own failing health and doctors’ warnings—he was 74 and recovering from his third heart attack—Eisenhower traveled to the Kennedy Library groundbreaking ceremony in Boston. Standing beside Jacqueline Kennedy, he told the assembled crowd something that made even hardened reporters weep: "President Kennedy possessed the greatest campaign weapon any man could have—he had Jacqueline Kennedy by his side, but more than that, he possessed a quality I grew to admire deeply in our many conversations—the courage to admit when he didn’t know something and the wisdom to seek counsel." What made the moment even more powerful was Eisenhower’s revelation that he had kept every letter Kennedy had ever written him, bound carefully in a private collection he called “Letters from a Young Lion.” That day, he donated them to the future Kennedy Library, saying he wanted history to know their friendship had been real—that politics hadn’t divided them where it mattered most. Jackie Kennedy squeezed Eisenhower’s hand and whispered something those nearby heard: “He called you his North Star, General. He never stopped seeking your guidance.” Eisenhower’s voice broke as he replied, “And I never stopped believing in him.” Here were two people from different worlds—the widowed First Lady and the retired Republican general—united in grief and mutual respect. They showed us that the bonds forged in service to country transcend everything else. This is the America worth fighting for—the one where we see each other’s humanity first.

Ontario’s health care minister laughed out loud when I asked her about nurse respect and retention in question period. She may find my plea laughable, but nurses are speaking out about the reality. She should listen. 👇 ottawacitizen.com/news/ontario-h… #onpoli

Having destroyed the West Island, a public park and natural habitat left barren for a “spa”, Ford now eyes ravaging downtown parkland in Niagara Falls to build a giant ferris wheel. Never mind healthcare and education in crisis, 750,000 unemployed, 85,000 homeless, FOI… 💸💸💸

Time to stick it to #DougFord's rich friends. 100s of 1000s of Ontarians had their stat holiday stripped from them & are forced to work Victoria Day. Do all your shopping on Sat & Sun. Make Victoria Day a net loss for CEOs. They'll have to pay workers, but gain no sales revenue.

I often wonder how Sylvia Jones sleeps at night knowing she has been the cause of so much anguish & death in Ontario. May she rot in hell for what she has done & continues to do.
Captain Dick@CaptainDick12

This makes me want to puke. Sylvia Jones had to find nurses to have her photo op. I agree nurses are the back bone of our hospitals but Jones is not fit to abuse them for her own advertisements. Jones is "Doctor hallway death".

You know what's weird? There isn't a single person I've come across on Twitter who supports Doug Ford and I am terminally on line. Find me fan of Doug Ford.
