As we edge closer to a TikTok ban in the US, a new look at how Americans get news on TikTok: pewrsr.ch/3PG3Hdx

21% of U.S. adults say they regularly get news from news influencers on social media. This is especially common among younger adults: 37% of those ages 18 to 29 say they regularly get news from influencers. pewresearch.org/journalism/202…

Audiences tend to report positive experiences when getting news from news influencers: - 65% say news influencers help them better understand current events - 70% say that news is at least somewhat different than news they would get elsewhere - 31% feel connected to one

We could only find a clearly stated partisan orientation for about half of the 500 news influencers we studied, but among those, there is a slight lean to the political right - 27% vs 21%.
