We did it! You guys are ENTIRELY the reason I had a chance at this and I will forever be grateful for it! Started streaming almost 2 years ago with the idea of just playing with friends and having fun.. Little did I know it was the beginning of a very unexpected journey in self discovery and creating everlasting friendships I'll treasure for a lifetime that I wouldn't trade the world for. “We’re not happy with shipping below our quality bar though” Guys when were you happy last holy shit. It has been nothing but “missed mark” (not funny btw and don’t let rare try and meme that phrase) for so long now. The team is failing on both community and development sides. Arc raiders saw the issues that came with an update every 3 months and has swapped to 2 updates per year. How are we almost on season 20 of this BS.

We got them to acknowledge the problem and commit to making change. Obviously, knowing their track record, this could just end up being swept under the rug like usual. But for now, that statement is all we can really expect for a matter this serious. Rare isn’t a mom and pop shop. They’re owned by a trillion dollar company. They kick someone to the curb and they get sued. Every word they speak on this has to be nitpicked and approved. People want to go after anyone who isn’t boycotting the game, but all we can really do now is wait for the dust to settle and see who is still at Rare. If still nothing changes, it’s scorched earth time. In the meantime I will continue using my platforms to talk about the problems with the game and community like always.

I get the rage... like I REALLY do. I hate I'm in a world where I have to have a conversation with my 9yo son about preditors online when we're just trying to enjoy our game time. The whole situation has made me SICK. I've had endless DMs "why haven't you said anything".... I have, on stream which is where I'd usually have my 'rants' and keep them off socials (now a days).... but either way, I've REALLY struggled to find the words for socials on the whole thing. I will say, focus on the abusers, report any evidence/all information you have to the CEOP: ceop.police.uk/Safety-Centre/ and get these sickos locked up. Please don't attack others by association. I know what it's like to find out someone you respect is a complete scum bag. With reguards to Rare, I'm watching. I know 1st hand (as an ex employer) that in the UK, companys have to go through these processes/investigations and prove they are carried out unbiased, which means they can't imply that actions that are carried out as a result of the investigation were pre determined/decided before the investigation is complete. I.e. they CAN'T say anything... I was GENUINLY shocked they shared the Community Values Post. I have absolute faith that as a result of all this, things will be shaken up. Things have been off for some time, I've kept myself distant from the groups for quite a while now and I've personally said for years that the whole creator/partner/community programs needed a shutdown and re-set but was always accused of "wanting to take oppertunites away from others". But curated 'oppertunities' and positions of influence should only be given to those who are approved and part of an official program. When I got partner, we had to have our account approved by Microsoft and they looked into our accounts (and linked accounts) history's before being approved... This should be applicable to ANYONE who is part of any kind of affiliated group with rare moving forward in my opinion... No 'program' should ever accept people based of vibe check/community engagement (I know this will upset folks) but it opens the door to people who are masters of manipulation and take advantage of people's generosity/innocence. I keep getting pressured to, but I'm not going to stop playing SoT/step down from Partner. If I did, it would be due to pressure from people online and not my own decision which isn't right. This community and game is still special to me, I agree things NEED to change... but I also know this isn't a true reflection of the whole team, game and community I love. I don't want individuals ruin this for everyone and I promise, as a partner, I will push this message. But basically, all this has reminded me that no one online can be trusted/is always who they seem to be. I said earlier this year I was going to try collaborate more and connect with more creators and community but now I just want to lock myself away to my small bubble. Stay safe. Don't defend people blindly online. Educate young people around you. Emotions are rightfully high but remember it's about protecting young people online and bringing abusers to justice. Try to keep that focus and don't attack others for 'not speaking out'/dealing with all this in their own way. Sorry for the essay, I've retyped this so many times and struggling to know how to get my thoughts worded.

We expect more. Whether it's a boatswain, or a partner, or any community member, allegations need to be taken seriously. Even if they're "friends" with a CM. Action needs to be swifter. Protect your players. Do better.

Also, for those of you who think that standing up for this stuff is performative. I left the partner program a few weeks back because despite my many attempts to get Rare to take player safety more seriously, dating all the way back to when Geckoguild and GigglingGhosty 1/x

Instead of focusing on the people with actual ties to Bruno, there are people attacking partners who didn't know the guy or Rare employees who aren't even in the same department It's understandable to smell blood right now, but don’t muddy the waters going after the wrong people

I didn't wanna make this a public thing since leaving the partner program is literally inconsequential to me but at the same time I don't want to create the impression that I am silently supporting Rare's inaction Yes, this is another partner resignation threat. Do better Rare.

Buckle up, long post: Ya'll know i try to always see all sides of a situation, however i really see only one side to this, and there is absolutely no wiggle room in how wrong it is. First: I know a lot of people are afraid to talk about this- either because they're newly partner or want to be partner. This is a major problem. Being afraid to state an opinion for fear of being blacklisted by the community managers is in itself- A PROBLEM, and should be eye opening to anyone who is afraid of respectfully voicing an opinion on an open platform. I really hope Rare see's this an puts new guidelines in place. (I'm sure partners are told to not talk about certain things- especially when it comes to fueling drama (makes sense), but this is not simply drama.) And I- as someone whose application hasn't been closed or accepted yet, am going to talk about it. At this point it is a legal issue, rare stated on discord that they are now doing an internal investigation, and they can't talk about it. (that I feel is valid) when dealing with something legal, you're really not suppose to show your side of things on the internet. As long as the investigation is happening, and rare is considering what the qualification process is for these esteemed roles- okay. Again- if anyone at rare reads this: It is NOT okay if any content creator feels uncomfortable voicing an opinion for speaking on an issue because of how to community managers tend to react/handle things. Especially in regard to something involving genuine concern for the CHILDREN in the community. This community RARELY agrees on anything. I think we see today that we all agree that there is absolutely no space in this community for people who prey on or harm children, much less them being put influential place of power. As a mother I am disgusted that this person was promoted to boatswain after last years warnings from the community. (not to mention the hypocrisy in not only letting the pig picture slide, but banning people with funny harmless boat names for being slightly sexually themed.) This is bigger than twitter drama- this is a horrible crime that not only deserves jailtime, but will effect the victims for years to come. My heart goes out to these children and I hope their parents are aware and getting them the resources they need. Back in my early days in sot i was reached out to by a PI regarding my main duo and close friend. He told me/showed me my duo was preying on a fake decoy 16 year old in the game/discord. While i was shocked- that info was enough for me to block him and help the PI however i could. It took me awhile to recover from the fact that this close friend who knew so much about me was actually a predator. Freaked out, grossed out, and thankful the decoys were not really 16 year old girls. He was even using my name to put me down in order to gain these "girls" favor. Disgusting. Dead to me. (it's really that easy) It could literally be anyone. I'm not going to assume that the team knew what bruno was doing (I would assume they didn't know), but red flags were raised last year- and for me that'd be enough to cut ties with someone. Because so many "shitters" are blacklisted, blocked, or ignored in the space- people trying to warn or call this person out went either disregarded, shoved aside, or ignored. Again- this is a problem. Get rid of Favoritism, get rid of blacklisting on opinions or emotions in a professional environment, and please require PR training. If you are in your 30's you should know better than to entertain close relationships with kids- Innocent or not- Kids should not have close relationships with strangers on the internet twice their age. Period. Parents: check your kids games and make sure comms are off. Trust your kids and don't overdue privacy- but maybe have more open conversations about discord and some monitoring of dms. Have conversations and warnings about grooming. This is dangerous and will effect them for the rest of their life.

You cannot promote being a safe space if it clearly isn't safe.

Rare has really messed up here. No public statement yet. Not even a heads up to current Partners internally. Radio silence. The lack of professionalism from the CM team lead to this, and it was completely avoidable. Y’all need to say something, and Bruno needs to be arrested.

In light of recent events and allegations within the Sea of Thieves community, I have decided to step down from the partner program. This affiliation no longer aligns with my personal values or the standards I hold for my brand.

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to step down from the @SeaOfThieves Partner Program. I love Sea of Thieves and I’ll always be thankful for the opportunities, friendships, and memories that came from it. But seeing the recent news surrounding someone who was elevated and promoted by members of the CM team has honestly been disgusting. Especially hearing that some people may have known about certain behavior and it was still pushed forward anyway. As a Christian, I have to stand on what I believe is right. Between this and years of harassment that creators have dealt with while little was done about it, I just can’t continue representing the program in good faith anymore. This wasn’t an easy decision because I truly love this game and the community we built around it. But I feel like it’s the right decision for me, my family, and my community moving forward. Thank you to everyone who supported me through all of it.
