Counselor in Ed. UNL alumna. At the end of the day, the only questions I will ask myself are: Did I love enough? Did I laugh enough? Did I make a difference?

@MARKMANNION Sometimes people do not want to be a bother to others or ask for help. Keep being kind anyway. It will mean a lot to the right person!

Asked an older woman if she needed help carrying her laundry basket, she said no, and immediately dropped it spilling half of her detergent on the ground. Fix your ego before you can’t do things people!

You absolutely love to see it. This HVAC technician just saved a single mom thousands of dollars she didn’t really have all because her AC unit was misdiagnosed 8 years prior. He fixed the issue for $500. He’s based in Florida. His business will be booming after telling this story. Lesson: Any service based business should spend $0 on advertising. Treat people right and they will do it for you.

@GeriPerna @Dementia_Joe_B I didn’t buy a home until I was 40. I hear what you are saying. The only reason I had money was my parents died by the time I was 36. Otherwise I would still be renting. But I did what I had to do.

My brothers are of the Baby Boomer generation. I remember when each of them bought their homes. Gen Z keeps saying Baby Boomers had it easy buying homes, but did they? Let’s do the actual math. In 1981, the median new home price was about $68,950. With 10% down, that meant $6,895 down and a $62,055 mortgage. But the mortgage rate hit 18.63%, making the payment about $967/month, not including taxes, insurance, or PMI. Median family income was about $22,390/year, or $1,866/month, so the mortgage alone accounted for about 52% of gross monthly income. Today, the median new home price is about $403,200. With 10% down, that's $40,320 and a $362,880 mortgage. At around 6.53%, the payment is about $2,301/month, not including taxes or insurance. Median family income is about $105,800/year, or $8,817/month, making the mortgage about 26% of gross monthly income. Interest rates during that decade were VERY HIGH. For annual averages, the highest was 1981 at 16.64%, and the lowest was 1989 at 10.25%. If you include 1990, the lowest was 1990 at 9.97%. What are your thoughts?

@saul02_terry Retention without a plan is just repeating the same year and hoping for a different result. The intervention has to be built into the decision from the start. And you are right that it is a one time move. The window is small and when it closes it does not reopen.

The world is more than 1 degree warmer and CO₂ has reached 427 ppm - yet our planet is becoming a green paradise. Global greening from higher CO₂ has delivered an unexpected windfall; 5.5 million km² of new greenery springing up across the world since 2,000 (NASA studies). This isn't just extra leaves. Green growth is equal to twice the area of the Amazon Rainforest and the Sahara Desert has lost 8% desert to new plant growth. Across the Arctic, vegetation increased by 38% between 1985 and 2016. Between 2000 and 2017 satellites identified a 25% to 50% increase in vegetated lands turning green. Food production has been boosted by 35-40%. This is the Earth’s way of self-correcting and 30% of these areas already have a natural cooling effect through water-vapor management. The planet isn't a passive victim, it's an active participant. The UN climate ideology was about fear and control.

“Venus” was the hit song from 1969 by Shocking Blue that gave us the unforgettable hook “I’m your Venus, I’m your fire, at your desire.” 🔥 Then Bananarama revived it in 1986 and it hit #1 all over again. 💃🎶🔥
