@rosscolquhoun This is what truly supporting a football team looks like, pride in their success and even more pride when they fall just short. I love this and I hope Hearts come back even stronger next season and get what they deserve.

Seeing some fans mock this, but this is what football is all about - a community supporting your team when they win and when they come close. Too much of modern football has become over-commercialised and sanitised, especially at the top level.

Hearts are welcomed back to Tynecastle by a defiant support. Defeat to Celtic on the final day of the season ended their hopes of bringing home the club's first top flight title since 1960. #BBCFootball

@IpswichTown What a player, leader and example you are. It was a joy for us Town fans to watch you in our blue shirt. You should be immensely proud of your time at the club Chappers, and the role you played in our rise back to the Premier League. A sad day for us all. Good luck 💙🤍💔

Midfielders Azor Matusiwa and Jack Taylor have both undergone surgeries following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season. Azor has had an operation on a muscle injury, while Jack has had a knee cartilage procedure. Speedy recovery, gents. 💙

@LesMuttons When I saw it yesterday I couldn’t figure out what he was pointing too as Wrexham didn’t have any player making their way into the box from a central or far post position. By being distracted he’s woefully out of position to attempt to block or hinder any attempt from Moore

Apparently Ipswich are only bringing 400 fans to the game tomorrow… Oh dear. Very poor support when chasing promotion. #itfc

@S_BaileyITFC It’s perfect to feet pass for a right footed, side foot finish trying to start it outside the post and curling it back inside of it. The direction of the ball and Hirsts body shape make this the best option of scoring and hitting the target.

I’m no professional footballer but surely you try and cushion this with your left foot and then shoot with your right? #ITFC

@baxiboy0406 Have a day off or get your eyes checked. You conceded two more stone wall pens, so I wouldn’t be complaining you only had the one given against you.

@ddphotograph @IpswichTown I must be watching a different Egeli. One dimensional, slows us down has really had much end product either. Not a fan of Greaves either, such a liability when he’s played this season. Not hopeful of a result so que another away win 🤣

@B19LFS @itfc_louis2 Annoys me that he waits until the 70th minute, most games to make a change. Thats what defined him in his early days, his in game management was excellent, now it’s almost defiance to not change it even when it clearly isn’t working.

@itfc_louis2 Whatever is plan A when you’re changing 7 players. Don’t get me wrong I don’t think calling for managers heads. But Jesus Christ. 2-0 to Charlton and no subs. Should have been changes at 1-0 down.

@chris_sutton73 How would you do that, different weather and pitch conditions, same players on either side might not be available due to injury/suspension etc. I agree it’s really unfortunate for Blackburn and if the roles were reversed I wouldn’t be happy, but it’s the right decision.

How is it fair to replay a whole game ? The fairest thing to do would be to play the game from where it left off??
BBC Sport Lancashire@BBCLancsSport

The EFL have released a statement following Saturday's abandonment between Blackburn Rovers & Ipswich Town. The game was called off in the 79th minute due to a waterlogged pitch. The statements says: The EFL Board has today determined that the Sky Bet Championship fixture between Blackburn Rovers and Ipswich Town should be replayed in full following its abandonment on Saturday 20 September. The fixture was abandoned in the 79th minute after the referee had taken the players off the pitch following a sustained period of heavy rainfall, which caused the playing surface to become unplayable. The Board comprehensively considered all options available in accordance with the Regulations alongside representations made by both Clubs. It was ultimately decided by a majority that the fixture should be replayed in full. The decision follows recent precedents relating to abandoned fixtures and is intended to uphold the integrity of the League competition which should, wherever possible, be based on a complete set of fixtures played to a conclusion on the day. Following due consideration, the three Championship Directors abstained from the vote. The Board recognised that this was an incredibly difficult decision and agreed to consult Clubs on the best approach to the development of new guidance to be considered in the event of a match abandonment. A new date for the fixture will be confirmed by the respective Clubs in due course.
