I’m reading, and reviewing, all the Doctor Who BBC Books novels! Here’s the launch title: The Eight Doctors. Getting series legend Terrance Dicks to spin a yarn with lots of Docs is a great way to start. Right? neilisthebestdalek.blogspot.com/2024/07/doctor…

@okeechoBree Can always try the “throw entire self as if projectile” manoeuvre. I tend to call it the Rueben Cannon because that’s a random credit on The A-Team and they do that lots.

@Garferty I use the double fist on cardboard at work all the time but the limited effectiveness only fuels my doubts

@tjbierschbach One guy pointed at a ticket and went, see? That would have taken me all morning. Oh no! Spending time to ensure your work is of good quality! And feeling fulfilled at a job well done afterwards! Oh NO!

@tjbierschbach I keep hearing that it’ll save time. Okay: for what? More of this? Am I then getting into an endless loop of asking it to do my work and then spell checking? At what point do your employers figure out they can live with half-assed output and stop paying you. I mean come on.

@MatthewStadlen Kind of feel like there are rules against doing important things for an incentive like this? Ah well, it’s probably nothing.

Nigel Farage says he was given £5 million as a “reward for campaigning for Brexit for 27 years”. Definitely a man of the people.

@okeechoBree I remember it being a thing (How To Walk Thriugh A Door maybe?) and I don’t recall there being an official reason for not going ahead.

Anyone have any info on what happened to Tom Baker’s second autobiography marked for release on 2020?

So many extremely boring “but why didn’t character simply do the thing perfectly?” responses about The Boys today. What a dull way to watch a story.

The comedians job is not only to lift a mirror up to society but lift a mirror up to Yo mama. Even if it takes a thousand men to lift the worlds largest mirror.

@KrynoidRoots They were trying things out, so it’s to be expected really. Some of the more standardised animation later on is perhaps worse in its own way.

🚨BREAKING🚨 Keir Starmer once reclined his seat on a short-haul flight. In other news Nigel Farage has received a £5m gift, a house, helicopter flights, a Maldives trip and been accused of throwing an election for £1m. Here's Sam Coates with more on the reclined seat scandal.

This might seem like a game to you. My daughter has leukemia. She is absolutely dependent on the NHS. 'Journalists' paving the way for a Reform government, whilst this Labour government is committed to preserving it, stops me sleeping at night.

So 100ish vs 80ish, with over 200 MPs as yet undeclared. But the magic number to activate a contest is 80. Whether the 80 would actively pull the trigger at this point now is another question.

#Cannes jury member Demi Moore says we need to "find ways" to work with AI: "Against-ness breeds against-ness. AI is here. So to fight it is to fight a battle that we will lose. So to find ways that we can work with it is a valuable path that we can take."

@okeechoBree Ooh, we’ve got similar-ish book shelves. Read Hell House, THOHH and TWIB. Got Butter and Babel, and a different Murakami stashed.
