Tory wets are out in force at the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham, doing their best to undermine the Prime Minister. They are the useful idiots of the Socialist Left. A Labour Govt would be a catastrophe for Britain, the Union and Brexit.

@PaulEmbery @spikedonline Paul Embery's argument falls apart when he says bankers are determining govt. policy. They aren't. They are reacting to it.

Painfully muted reception for @KwasiKwarteng keynote speech #CPC22 . The truth is that most activists supported the principle of the 45p policy and are appalled by the last few days

@benhabib6 An ideological battle against the market? Good luck with that. This is where we are at after spending 6 years listening to charlatans like Habib.

The smallest cost to the Exchequer from the mini-budget tax cuts was the reduction in the higher rate of tax. But its reversal has stopped the media backlash and cries of “unfunded” tax cuts. Even £ has jumped upwards. This was an ideological battle, not an economic one.

@BrugesGroup More lies from the Bruges group ideologue liars. The U-turn was because of the market reaction, and nothing else. The market doesn't trust the Tories with the economy.

Correct. £2bn out of a wider £45bn package. The backlash was never about economics. It was always an ideological battle - one the government should have fought, because the same voices will now demand wider policy reversals.

Andrea Jenkyns making a fiery appearance at our fringe event this afternoon! We're fortunate that she recognises the problems facing our education system and is in a position to solve them.
Adam Bienkov@AdamBienkov

"The current system would rather our young people get a degree in Harry Potter studies, than in construction," says Higher Education Minister Andrea Jenkyns, who says that universities are feeding students "a diet of critical race theory, anti British history and Social Marxism."

The main problem for the government is that one U-Turn opens the floodgates. The MSM, Opposition and Tory Wets will now be emboldened to go after the PM’s entire platform. She and the Chancellor should not have caved to the ridiculous hysteria of recent days.

A pleasure to join @AlStewartOBE in studio @GBNEWS today in London. The British Govt is doing the right thing cutting taxes and advancing economic freedom. The Biden Administration is wrecking the US economy, fueling inflation and spending vast amounts of taxpayer money.
GB News@GBNEWS

'My advice to the British Government is adopt exactly the opposite of what the Biden presidency is doing in the United States because it's an absolute disaster.' Former Aide to Margaret Thatcher Nile Gardiner shares his analysis of Liz Truss' mini budget.

As a working class Tory I have no problem with bankers bonus removal as it is not tax payers money but I can’t support the 45p tax removal when nurses are struggling to pay their bills. #constiuentsfirst . If Tory party @JakeBerry don’t want this working class MP, fair enough

@BrugesGroup This is the former Party Chairman. It’s disgraceful behaviour. The party needs to rally round the new prime minister.

It is unacceptable that a former Minister should make such an intervention as the new party leader seeks to establish herself during her first conference. Tory members rejected Sunak and embraced Truss’s low-tax agenda. MPs should respect this and row in behind the new PM.

@jfoster2019 @UKLabour It is indicative that you have to hark back to 44 years ago. Unfortunately those of us with long memories can remember Tory recessions of 80s and 90s, hematite equity, poll tax, austerity, and now this utter shambles.
