Ok , but generally customer wants to relax and enjoy the eating out and will compensate server , for doing that .
Server wants to be respected and given a tip showing our appreciation .
I think that still prevails , with the exception restaurants tend to want to offload some of their wage overhead and have done by customer tipping .
Not fair to customer or server .
Will take some time to sort out , but any type of posts like one I saw , would be very rare

@GaryS2020 @Mr_Husky1 As a server.
I’ve seen people bitch about$15 tips on $20 tabs.
So… while maybe it didn’t happen… I wouldn’t be surprised if it did happen.
English

My husby and I went out to dinner last night, and the bill came out to $200. I left a $50 tip on the table, thinking that was pretty reasonable. But the waiter looked at it and flat-out refused to take it.
He told us that if we weren’t willing to leave at least $85, we shouldn’t be eating out in the first place.
I was honestly caught off guard. I felt embarrassed sitting there, like we’d done something wrong. We weren’t trying to be cheap or disrespectful — I genuinely thought $50 was a fair tip for that bill. Now I keep replaying the whole thing in my head, wondering if I misjudged it and questioning whether $50 really wasn’t enough.😱

@racerbluegold @Mr_Husky1 Yes , I would be . Still believe didn’t happen
English

@GaryS2020 @EshaAA33 He shouldn't be using taxpayer money to do it, which is what he did, Gary.

@PaulleyTicks How many times do we go to celebrations and parties where there r kids and adults . Adults had fancy food and kids had burgers , chicken fingers , and we adults went over to the kids table and ate their food . I have .
English

@Bricktop_NAFO I bet they loved the meal . Don’t think they would have wanted to sit down to a five star meal . Kinda cool McDonald’s
English

@LWillson_82 @HerbZurkowsky1 Luke I am real serious . Not sure the point you trying to make . I believe cfl game , grey cup , more exciting than nfl game and Super Bowl . League and owners have to stay focused on the game and generating revenue . It’s there . Can be done .
English

“Stay positive”
Gary you can’t be serious. I don’t know Herb but I bet he is belly laughing right now.
The grey cup just had two historic franchises in it, one which also brought a separate broadcast in (RDS) and it still trailed a Super Bowl that was not entertaining by 50 percent in viewership.
If someone in the CFL is trying to “be the NFL” that you know of. Why don’t you expose them? In my own personal experience, 100 percent of the executives, owners, coaches that I’ve personally met; Not one of them has said they want to “be the NFL”.
And to your last point of “good football”. Due to the lack of coaches (operations cap), and lack of meeting time, the CFL schematically is an extremely simple game.
As for people watching “good football”…Watching Sean McVay operate an offense with; Stafford/Puka/Adams or the Dark side Defense in Seattle, or Josh Allen putting on the Superman cape and carrying the Bills…That is what people are watching both north and south of the border.
I’m sorry Gary, I know this is harsh but the above tweet isn’t positivity, it’s delusion.

Went here thinking it’d be a chill breakfast and everything just went f#cking downhill.
Three of us. THREE. And somehow breakfast turned into a $313 disaster like we ordered gold plated eggs. $22 avocado toast, $12 WATER, coffee priced like rent, then management has the audacity to slap on auto gratuity and VAT like they didn’t already bend us over.
Nothing tasted life changing, nothing justified the price, it was just overpriced plates and vibes of you’re on vacation so shut up. And the best part? They still leave space for extra tip like this whole bill wasn’t already a scam approved by management. This isn’t luxury, it’s lazy pricing and greedy management hoping no one calls them out. Completely f#cked

English

@Mr_Husky1 I assume you had a menu with prices , before you ordered ??
English

@Argonuts @Bulldogs_96 @jamesonkj @HerbZurkowsky1 You can’t make money in Montreal cause the stadium is archaic .. your making no money with bleachers.
.. It’s premium seating, suites and socials zones that drive revenue.
until they bulldoze tophalf the west side and put in premium seating, your making no money

What one perceives as cynicism, I perceive as facts. We’re never going to agree. Ever
Gary Stern@GaryS2020
@HerbZurkowsky1 Always found you so smart and so knowledgeable on cfl game , why always the cynicism . The team under peladeau has made great strides . Still a long way to go , but way better than the cfl running them .
English

@RSnicks18 @jamesonkj @HerbZurkowsky1 Believe labour of love . Believe he also felt he could make it work and not be a financial drain
English

@GaryS2020 @jamesonkj @HerbZurkowsky1 Expectations to make a profit? He owned the team for 22 years, the large majority weren’t profitable. You don’t think he knew by then he wouldn’t make money? The last many years, he ran that team out Of a labour of love and would have continued to if not for health issues
English

Facts from covering the team since 97
KJ-Riders@jamesonkj
@HerbZurkowsky1 Interesting. What makes you feel that way?
English

@LWillson_82 @HerbZurkowsky1 Stay positive . The cfl game is fast and exciting . Grey cup surpasses the Super Bowl every time .
Stop trying to be the nfl. But go after the American fan base . They crazy about football .
They understand good football .
English

@GaryS2020 @HerbZurkowsky1 Gary I don’t disagree, but wondering how you would recommend creating that culture you’re suggesting.
English

@HerbZurkowsky1 You r correct herb , was and still is a major issue .
Big political problem , but that stadium is needed .
I believe alouettes could fill it
English

Only if they then lost the final. Last time I checked that shit stadium is not available

English

@Todd_Moggey @HerbZurkowsky1 We all have our thoughts on cheerleading and best place to spend operating dollars .
I still believe better ways .
But not sure way the bitterness
English

@HerbZurkowsky1 Your buddy Gary the day drinker Stern tried to get rid of them also. But response made him overturn it. Cheerleading was ruined when started calling it “cheer team” and let members named Bill and Mike join
English

Looks like PKP is starting to cut corners. I told him when he bought the team he’d never make a penny off it

@MrPitbull07 The problem is not the server , she works hard and a major part of income is derived from tips .
Restaurants , are working hard to be able to absorb rapidly increasing costs of operating .
The public has less income to spend on dining out .
The industry needs to address asap
English

Ran up a $1500 dinner tab and when the receipt came back they had those cute little “suggested tips” printed like I’m supposed to casually drop another $300 just because someone carried plates from kitchen to table. I left $25 which honestly felt generous considering I already paid restaurant-level prices for the food itself.
Server immediately got weird about it, attitude switched, barely a thank you, just that tight smile people do when they think you violated some unspoken rule. I told her straight up tipping isn’t a percentage subscription service and I’m not funding someone’s rent just because the bill happened to be high.
Manager wandered over trying to smooth it out, hinting about “industry standards” like that magically obligates me. That only made me dig in harder because nowhere else do you get charged more for the exact same task just because the total went up.
So I signed it exactly how it was, stood up, and walked out while they all stared like I committed financial treason, and if they think I’m coming back there to play along with that system again they’re seriously confused.

@MatthewEvolves @HerbZurkowsky1 Not sure why wants to block , seems like open constructive discussions .
No question herb is good , not sure about a national treasure . Lol
English

@HerbZurkowsky1 Just block asap when you get these, Herb. You're a national treasure.

@MatthewEvolves @RSnicks18 @jamesonkj @HerbZurkowsky1 Yes , he is , and looks like he trying to get his books balanced while putting forth a competitive team . Support him , don’t put him down for that .

@RSnicks18 @jamesonkj @HerbZurkowsky1 They made the title game two out of the last three years. He's doing just fine.
