A Shaken PLA, A Stronger Taiwan This is striking: according to the attached chart, of the 28 most senior positions in the PLA and the People’s Armed Police, only five are currently visibly occupied. What does that suggest? First, a Taiwan war does not look imminent. A military leadership structure this hollowed out is not capable of a major external campaign. Beijing is more likely to intensify political warfare, disinformation, economic pressure, and efforts to subvert Taiwan from within. Elements within the KMT are already providing plenty of assistance on that front. Second, it is obvious Xi Jinping has little confidence in his own military — whether in its loyalty, its competence, or both. The scale of the purge suggests not strength, but deep distrust at the very top. While China’s military command structure appears politically shaken and institutionally unstable, Taiwan is enjoying record-high stock markets and strong economic momentum of around 8% growth in the last quarter. For now, the balance of confidence looks very different from what Beijing would like the world to believe.

⚠️ Post long : ⛽️la crise de l’essence en Russie est bien plus grave que vous ne le pensez, et je vous explique pourquoi 👇 Je viens de faire une recherche assez longue sur les frappes ukrainiennes sur les raffineries russes. 🧐 Je me posait la question : que signifient ces images de queues aux stations essence à Moscou ? La Russie peut-elle trouver des alternatives ? 🤔 Rappel : pourquoi la Russie a-t-elle des problèmes d’essence alors qu’elle exporte du pétrole ? Parce que : 1. Le pétrole brut doit être raffiné avant utilisation. 2. Les Ukrainiens n’ont pas le droit de frapper les puits et l’export…. Mais ont un feu vert pour frapper les raffineries qui servent le marché russe. ➡️ Avant la guerre, la Russie n’utilisait pas complètement ses capacités de production, laissant du « mou » qui a permis de combler les pertes en 2025. -25% de capacités de production = -3% en réalité, car la Russie a pu booster ses capacités sous exploitées. ➡️ Ça ne marche plus & les frappes ukrainiennes font plus de dégats. On est déjà à presque -25% de production réelle de pétrole raffiné. On passe de 5.6 millions de barils par jour en 2021 à 4 millions aujourd’hui - mais cette fois, il n’y a plus de plan b. ➡️ Ces pénuries sont liées à la campagne de frappes ukrainiennes, qui ont frappé presque toutes les raffineries et qui vont s’intensifier durant l’été. ➡️ La seule solution de court terme pour Poutine, qui ne suffira pas, est de réimporter le pétrole brut (vendu à bas prix) sous forme de pétrole raffiné acheté aux prix du marché et plus cher à l’Inde. Mais 1) ça va saigner le budget russe (qui vends sous les prix du marché avant de racheter un produit plus cher, à prix du marché voir plus) et 2) ça ne suffira pas à combler les pertes : les volumes sont trop importants. Bref : la campagne pétrolière ukrainienne est en train de faire des dégâts sans précédents sur l’économie russe. Ce n’est pas qu’une question de statistiques : les russes ont du mal à trouver de l’essence pour aller bosser, voir leurs proches ou faire tourner les usines. Ça a un impact sur le moral, sur l’économie.. et sur la logistique. ‼️ Et peut-être le plus important : ça force la Russie à renforcer ses défenses aériennes au-dessus de la Russie .. en dégarnissant le front. Ouvrant peut-être une fenêtre pour une offensive ukrainienne dans les prochains mois.
