Neo-Babylonian Empire (~597–586 BCE: Major Jewish exiles, Temple destruction, and persecution under Nebuchadnezzar) → Fell to Persians under Cyrus (539 BCE, ~47 years later). 2. Seleucid Empire (Antiochus IV persecution and Temple desecration ~167 BCE) → Weakened by Maccabean Revolt and loss of Judea (shortly after, leading to further decline). 3. Roman Empire (Jewish revolts with massive Roman suppression, killings, Temple destruction in 70 CE, and Bar Kokhba revolt 132–136 CE) → Western Empire’s gradual decline and fall (476 CE, centuries later but with long-term eastern impacts). 4. Visigothic Kingdom (Spain) (Intensified 7th-century forced conversions, expulsions, and persecutions) → Destroyed by Muslim conquest (711 CE, within decades). 5. Almohad Caliphate (North Africa/Al-Andalus) (Mid-12th century forced conversions, killings, and exiles) → Rapid decline and fall (by early 13th century). 6. We must remember the men who perished during the Holocaust. These are some photos taken after the liberation of the camps. These horrific photos bear witness to the tragedies of the Shoah. Men are silent victims during wartime They're not women. Not children. Still human💙

Today in history, Miss. Rosa Kress was born on July 19, 1931, in Vienna, Austria, to Shmuel and Mania (née Chmel) Kress. Polish Jews. In 1942, Rosa was abducted to Auschwitz, where she was gassed to death. Rosa was just 10 or 11. Survive? No. She was murdered in Auschwitz🎗️

🕯️Elhanan Meir Kalmanson (41) Killed by Hamas terrorists in the October 7th terror attack against Jews. He is credited with saving over 100 people from Hamas, but was ambushed on October 8th and killed. He was a brave hero. His grave is the first to be marked with symbols of both the Israel Defense Forces and the Mossad, according to JP news. A victim of anti-Jewish terrorism. May Elhanan's memory be a blessing💔

Today in history, on July 19th 1901, this Jewish woman, Pola Ekchaus (nee Niemenczyńska) was born in Wilno (current day Lithuania) - then annexed by the Russian Empire. She was abducted to the Auschwitz death camp from on July 29, 1942. She did not survive, according to the Auschwitz Memorial Museum. Like many others who died in the Holocaust, we don't know exactly how she died, except that it was due to Nazi ideology. This photo has been colorized by @joecocker15.
