Historically toys pay for cartoons and kids are buying fewer toys now, so toy companies aren't making as many toys meaning they don't want to risk making toys on even just untested takes on existing franchises

I've seen comments on how the 'indie scene' has been taken over by stablished creators, but to me, the fact that people who've worked in the industry need to use kickstarter to have a chance to get their projects made after being shut down or strung along by networks worries me

@itsfckindryheat @Gentlman_Gaming @Walmart @ToysRUs @KBtoysstore I don't know if the toy industry will be able to adapt and go back to producing at the kind of scale they used to as these Toys R Us locations become more common or if they're locked into their current scale which is meant for the ever dwindling toy aisles at Walmart/Target

I live by a Toys R Us flagship location and while it's spotless and organized in a way the Walmart toy aisle isn't, it has just as limited of a selection

@poseface @Gentlman_Gaming @Walmart Last year they had a center aisle display of collector stuff (which actually had effort put into it) but stores just jammed it wherever it would fit, so it would often end up in the automotive section or by clothing

The P90 coexists with the Fallout 4 assault rifle. I feel like as long as a gun doesn't have rail mounts, it fits

Like on the movie side of things I remember people being mad about Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, Ghostbusters, Sausage Party, whichever X-Men movie came out that year, Angry Birds, etc.

@RadarFennec I don't understand why in the last couple years there's been so many "old cartoon" games popping up, seems like most aren't even taking advantage of properties that lapsed into public domain.

Cuphead was a game made by the Moldenhauer brothers as a love letter to the Fleischer style of animation. With animation being restricted to 24 FPS and including imperfections in it and the sound design.
These games just wear it as a skin and call it a day.

@Swag_K1RBY Reminds me of how in the show Buzz Lightyear of star command Buzz has a rival named Warp Dark matter who's basically evil buzz . Man I Wish Disney would re release this show it was so cool. legit way better than that Lightyear film.
