Israel is deploying the same deadly playbook it used in 2024 in Lebanon to kill dozens of health workers and devastate healthcare services.
Healthcare workers are risking their lives to save others. Under international humanitarian law, hospitals, medical facilities, and ambulances are protected and cannot be treated as targets. Unproven accusations about military use do not strip them of protection. Doctors, nurses, and paramedics cannot be targeted based on affiliation with a political party that has a military wing, and attacking them may amount to war crimes. Protecting healthcare is not optional — it is a binding rule of war.
