@WickedMcCat @LukasHozda I never trust a Wittgenstein dork, what did he ever code? Has he ever been neck deep in a multi step durable workflow '? I thought not
English

@LukasHozda It's funny how Wittgenstein's limits quote has been a floating obviosity forever and yet somehow the very notion is suddenly flame war fuel the moment it gets touched on wrt programming languages.
English

Expanding on this:
- Low IQ take: Programming languages matter
- Midwit take: Programming languages don't matter
- High IQ take: Programming languages matter

Honestly, the more I think about it, a lot about learning and growing in computer science is just discovering which things are secretly the same underlying thing (e.g. how there are monads everywhere for those with eyes too see them)

@tonywarriner @LordBermondsey Dude this fucking rocks, excuse
my language. Guardian Legend vibes

I'm sat coding #Z80, twenty miles from where the chip was designed, fifty years ago. I wonder if anyone else in the valley is doing the same? Not many I reckon :) #8bit #gamedev #spectrumnext

English

@LukasHozda It's all true. Correct. And it's our skill to figure out why lol

Massive turnout from the Da Nang community for Cafe Cursor! Thankyou to our amazing speakers for today @offpaths and @MekongWhisper #vibe 🇻🇳
English

@techopsasia @offpaths @MekongWhisper heck yes, it's been so cool to see them spend time in vietnam. this is the place, we are ready

@LordBermondsey @tonywarriner I have to ask, what did you build with it
English

@tonywarriner Z-80 assembler was the Jaguar XK-E of software engineering. Simple, elegant, performant.
English

@LukasHozda I hand coded a full scroll sustem in 6502 ASM prior to AI, and i had some bugs in it, it didnt work well at the edges, and god dammit AI went in and fixed it immediately and told me why it failed previous
English

@LukasHozda it's insanely fun to operate at low levels and when you are directly manipulating memory address space, poking registers, knowing the full limits and abilities of the system. i have started vibe coding a new NES game with my historical knowledge and it's going pretty well
English

One might, incorrectly, assume, that I would see some assembly codes, engineering hack magics and techniques and all I see is surface level AI slop

Pokémon Red & Blue are probably the most technically impressive games ever made relative to the hardware they ran on. A thread on assembly code, memory limits, and the engineering black magic that built the biggest media franchise on earth 🧵

@18dixiedean78 @htmx_org My idea might be whatever, might not be the one people adopt, but something like it will be a future standard. These many long months of Supply Chain attacks across boundaries of env or language have proven that this is a constant now, this is just how we live. And we need to fix
English

@18dixiedean78 @htmx_org Bad actors would need to be ejected immediately. That is an interesting case in terms of propagation
