@UtdFaithfuls Context matters though. Man Utd triggered a release clause, whereas Newcastle don’t need to sell Bruno after banking £160m+ for Gordon and Tonali. Age is one thing, but contract leverage and actual importance to the team dictate the price tag.

Bruno Guimaraes will be 29 in few months and Newcastle want £100m for him. Meanwhile, Man Utd just signed 29-year-old Tielemans for £35m. Fair play, INEOS. They have pulled off a blinder in this inflated market.

Newcastle hoped to get Johan Manzambi over the line but suspected this would happen. After the Victor Munoz stuff, #NUFC really could have done with this one going in their favour. The sad reality is, they just aren’t that much of an attractive destination currently.
