Balogun red reversal is a win against bad officiating. If you dislike FIFA's decision I understand. But setting precedent that if a player gets an overofficiated red in a wc game article 27 can restore jlfairness is a good. Rest of game is often more than enough.

🚨 Folarin Balogun is eligible to play against Belgium. FIFA sources had insisted US Soccer had no appeal. Sources say US Soccer did not attempt one as a result. And Balogun had spoken on Monday here in Seattle about missing the game telling us, “I have to accept it…” Yet FIFA have decided to hand Balogun a suspended one-game ban, which is in their powers as per Article 27. The red card stands but Balogun is free to play. Cristiano Ronaldo also given a suspended ban before the tournament allowing him to play Portugal’s opening World Cup games.

Some very pointed criticism overnight of the Cruz-Cantwell "Protect College Sports Act" from Ramogi Huma of the National College Players Association (@NCPANOW):
"This bill would functionally shut down a massive share of NIL from NIL collectives alone - well over $2 billion every year that would otherwise go primarily to football and men’s basketball athletes, the majority of whom are Black. At the same time, that money and more will continue flowing from these same sources to coaches and administrators who are predominantly White. This is an unjust wealth extraction, dressed up as ‘order.’ It’s a government sanctioned upward transfer that carves young Americans out of the American Dream and equal opportunity while locking in guaranteed riches for an older class of coaches and administrators."
