A historic decision by the Modi Government to build world-class industrial parks! The Government under PM @NarendraModi ji’s leadership has approved the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna (BHAVYA) with an allocation of ₹33,660 crore to develop 100 investment-ready plug-and-play industrial parks across the country. BHAVYA is a Central Sector Scheme built on key pillars of: - Building next-generation industrial infrastructure - Boosting ease of doing business through reforms & plug-and-play ecosystems - Creating future-ready, sustainable & efficient industrial parks - Driving investment, employment & stronger industrial ecosystems Under the scheme, industrial parks ranging from 100 to 1000 acres (25 acre for Northeast and hilly regions) will be developed, with the Central Government providing financial support of up to ₹1 crore per acre. By enabling cluster-based development and co-location of industries, suppliers and support services, BHAVYA will strengthen supply chains, reduce costs and foster vibrant industrial ecosystems across regions. Here are this week’s key highlights: 🤝 #GeMMoU Government e Marketplace (GeM) signed a strategic MoU with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS)—the world’s leading professional body for procurement and supply—to strengthen procurement capability and promote global best practices within India’s public procurement ecosystem. The MoU was signed by Shri Satya Narayan Meena, Additional CEO, GeM, and Shri Ben Farrell, Group CEO, CIPS, —an important step towards advancing procurement professionalism in the country. Following the signing, Shri Mihir Kumar, CEO, GeM, and Shri Ben Farrell discussed future collaboration areas, including ethical and sustainable procurement, addressing price–quality asymmetry and strengthening procurement capabilities across government organisations. Under this partnership, GeM and CIPS will collaborate on capacity-building initiatives, beginning with training on Ethical Procurement and expanding to ministries, departments and CPSEs. The partnership will also explore joint certification programmes on Procurement Excellence, while GeM officials will participate in CIPS knowledge sessions, starting with a webinar on “Embracing AI in Procurement.” 📍 #GeMinGujarat As part of an intensive outreach initiative, the GeM team—comprising the Chief Business Officer (States) and the State Nodal Officer (Gujarat)—engaged with senior officials of the Government of Gujarat.
