Story time. (thanks @jbondwagon for inspiring me to write this up) I had been shopping for apes around and eying this BAYC for quite a while as one on my shortlist. It had been in liquidation on BendDAO back in July 2023 but the floor was still higher than I was really able to afford and the owner ended up bailing out the loan anyway. @0xQuit coined it "CEOAYC" Fast forward a few months. August 21, 2023. My first day working at @yugalabs. The BAYC I had been eying for months went into liquidation again. The floor was lower now and ETH was sitting pretty low as well. I was actually sitting on a bunch of stables at the time as well. It has to be a sign right? Starting at Yuga and the grail ape I want goes into liquidation? I watched it for the liquidation and ended up sniping the end of the bidding (sorry not sorry @GeekApe) ETH price at the time was ~1635, so coming from stables the ape ended up being about $42,000. Now with ETH at 4200, BAYC floor is ~$52,000. Sure I missed out on some pretty good gains against just holding ETH but I also have gained so much being part of the community. Being part of the ape community helped me build deeper, meaningful connections in web3 and grow in my career. ApeFest Lisbon was such an incredible vibe and an amazing trip (I had never been to Europe before). Enough rambling, but that's my story. Stay bored. 🍌

Been a busy, hard four months since I stepped in as CEO of Yuga but stoked for July. Early on Gordon and I would say to each other that the job of an NFT founder is to eat shit sandwiches. Do hard things and smile and move on. Fair share of shit sandwiches and hard choices over the last few months. But our bi-weekly "What's Up Yuga" meeting where we demo all the things being built throughout the company has gotten to be incredible. Tons of delightful stuff being made, at a faster clip than ever before. More of what we're doing and how we're doing it is under my supervision than at any time since 2021. And Gordo making time to sprinkle his juju on stuff the team is working on too. There's a lag time of course. Nothing we've been working on since I've been back has shipped. But that changes next month.
