@CiesekSandra BA.4 und BA.5 sind nahezu identisch und der Impfstoff passt zu beiden. Sie unterscheiden sich aber im M Gen und im Orf6. Unsere neueste #VoXcreen PCR erkennt diesen Unterschied zwar, BA.4 ist aber schon ausgestorben. Nächste Tests dann für BQ.1.1; XBB; BA.2.75 oder BA.4.6...

Der Impfstoff BA4./5 ist bivalent. BA.4/5 sind sequenzidentisch!

It is however important to know the variant as it may influence long term effects and also has an influence on re-infection likelyhood. WIth #VoXcreen you get the info for free.

One of my past colleagues’ husband tested + for COVID about 9 months ago. He had his version of a «mild infection» 5 days ago, he had a stroke. He’s 45. Please don’t assume because you had a mild bout and are feeling ok that you are out of the woods.

@Monogrammaton @birdsofpaper @MeetJess don't get me wrong please, our #VoXcreen PCR integrates the variant detection in the regular PCR that needs to be done anyway, therefore there are no additional costs if a lab uses our assay instead of regular ones without the variant information. ("=2in1).

@TakethatCt @Resist_05 Drosten developped the first PCR for SARS-CoV-2 in record time. He published it quickly so that it could be copied by other labs and companies world-wide. Later, tests that detect other sites in the genome were made from CDC, France, China and from private companies such as us.

@Resist_05 Drosten developed *a* test for SARS-COV-2 (the virus) not Covid (the disease) Furthermore, there are more than 200 other authorised PCR assays for the detection of SARS-COV-2. They all give concordant results and check out by sequencing too

@septian is it not rather the new variant that causes the reinfection ? Are cases of reinfections known with the same variant of #SARSCoV2 (sequenced) ?
