In that regard I don't see the issue with Lee Pace's performance. He *should* sound pathetic when he screams "NOOOOOO" as the thought of Argall's skull being lost and/or destroyed. That gaping insecurity is what draws me in and makes me want to see more of this guy.

Speaking from a "only watched the show" perspective I don't really find myself lamenting the lack of "aura" from Thragg. I'm kind of burned out on big scary strong guy Viltrumites after Conquest so "scheming madman talking to a skull" is a compelling concept to me.

“I was just following orders” was not a valid defence for the Nazis and it won’t be for a single US troop that gets the order

Animation on Invincible clearly does need more time and/or budget though

@NarrowGucci Fair enough but ultimately I just don't think you could slap this into the DLC's story and have it work, either. It'd make more sense in either its original context (after you get half of the medallion) or something you can see shortly after the Malenia fight.

@GenerallyAMelon Can only speak for myself, but the Radahn reveal was a very uninteresting direction to take Miquella's char so the final cutscene was salt on the wound. At least this scene shows us a pivotal moment in Miq's life & would've been a bittersweet to end showing his hopeful beginning

I find it interesting that I've already seen several people, in response to this scrapped cutscene, bring up how much they dislike Shadow of the Erdtree's ending cutscene telling us things we already know. I guess my confusion is that this cutscene does the exact same thing.

New Elden Ring cut content video! Early in development, a cutscene existed that would have shown Miquella planting the Haligtree, even long before the DLC was announced. You can see it, and some information about it, in this video I made: youtube.com/watch?v=SSUR7s… Please retweet!

Miquella watering the Haligtree with his own blood is something the game already makes clear several times. It's as redundant as the thing people are complaining about. What am I missing here?

That time gap is also why there's so much focus on "entry points." Video games are a huge financial gamble that take years and years to pay off. From a cynical corporate perspective, it is much safer to release a game that anyone can play, not solely a dwindling "fanbase."

Think this is just a natural consequence of games taking longer than basically any other medium to release a new entry. Harder to maintain interest in an overarching narrative when you're going to be waiting 5 years for more information. Easier to make each entry self-contained.

This isn't just a nintendo thing, there's a huge phenomenon of game devs refusing to make sequels that actually follow up on their predecessor's story (even for narrative heavy franchises) because every installment needs to be a potential "entry point"
