@facetedcarapace The venn diagram of 'playing music/videos loudly in public' and 'will gladly fight in public' has a lot of overlap.
Do not ask the guy blasting Chief Keef to turn down his music. The best possible outcome is that he is not going to turn down his music
English

He's right. People blasting their phones in public is annoying as shit but I do not know what the real solution is because asking people to put on headphones is basically asking for a fight at this point.

@rustbelt_ ing.
St Paul has Wild, Soccer team, St Paul Saints, Science Museum, Frogtown, Hmong Village, big victorian houses, good restaurants on University Ave, no nightlife really. Some brewpubs and dive bars
English

@rustbelt_ Mpls has downtown (Twins, Wolves, Vikings,First Ave, clubs, Guthrie Theater), Uptown (used to be cool, now more corporate), Dinkytown (U of MN campus), iconic dive bars, Eat Street, Lake Street, Lake Harriet/Bde Maka Ska/Minnehaha Falls/Nokomis/Minnehaha Creek, "Greenway" for bik
English

I actually haven’t been to the twin cities yet but everyone I talk to says St. Paul is the better city?

Illustrated the top reason why people have passed on my vacant apartment lead these loyalties run DEEP

@coldhealing This is the future in the Bernie Sanders president timeline

The year is 2080. You are moving at 160mph on highspeed rail designed by Claude, headed from Durham North Carolina to St. Paul Minnesota to meet a girl from Hinge. You are 65 years old and unmarried. The countryside is so green. You listen to "About You" by The 1975

@JFrankensteiner @coopercooperco Sandler's apartment in Big Daddy (1999).
To be fair, he did have Jon Stewart as a roommate who was a businessman. And he had lawsuit settlement money invested early in Apple. So.. one of the more realistic portrayals?

English

Movies and television had me convinced as a small child that my first place would look exactly like this, just having a freight elevator take my broke ass to the coolest apartment ever

@facetedcarapace We went down to Mexicali, south of Calexico. Partied it up and had a great time
I underestimated the taco stand. I said that we have authentic tacos in our city. Those Mexicali tacos were the best tacos of my life. Had zero sickness. One of the best times and meals of my life

Anthony hated how Americans viewed street food abroad and correctly pointed out that street vendors with daily lines of loyal patrons don't stay in business for years by giving everyone in their neighborhood food poisoning.
Monsieur Grenouille 🐸@monsieurgren
My schizo theory on Anthony Bourdain is that his gut microbiome was terrible from the dirty street food and drinking which led him to a fragile mental state incapable of coping with a major stressor like a breakup

@FifthCrichton @boysadear @SleepySteve11 @thetrompwner That's not what foundational is brother. You like to reference a couple of the skits, just say that lol
English

@GenerationBleh @boysadear @SleepySteve11 @thetrompwner I'm just saying I'll say "we're all trying to figure out who did this" as an everyday reference even though I don't love the actual full sketch and can't stand to watch an episode or a movie like Friendship
English

@boysadear @SleepySteve11 @FifthCrichton @thetrompwner Or did he just use a concept being "foundational" incorrectly?
The sketch concepts are core fundamental principles or knowledge that serve as the essential base for his understanding of complex subjects, systems, or disciplines? That is what he is describing?
English

@GenerationBleh @SleepySteve11 @FifthCrichton @thetrompwner (NL angry voice): Discomfort and the perception of work as foundational aren't mutually exclusive! Emotions that impede the viewing experience aren't disabilities! Nobody said they were!
English

“I fire 50-60 bullets every day, I've stopped counting kills. I have no idea how many I've killed, a lot. Children."
This is at an aid drop-off location
And every fucking day people defend this. from the average idiot on here to the most powerful politicians in the world.

Wow yeah sounds like a really bad wound bro haaretz.com/israel-news/20…
English

@boysadear @SleepySteve11 @FifthCrichton @thetrompwner If you don't get your "liking Tim Robinson is ableist" lookin ass outta here 😆 it's fine if he has discomfort, don't call them foundational if you don't have the stomach for it lol
English

@SleepySteve11 @FifthCrichton @thetrompwner He's experiencing and relaying a real discomfort that he feels, one which isn't universal. I have a similar problem with The Rehearsal. Genius, funny, but my body constantly screaming "get outta there!" if I'm watching alone.

@TheMonkeyJungle @Srirachachau It's like the Nappy Roots once said,
Smoke something with your country people. Drank something with your country people
English

@oldfriend99 @xLord_of_war Oh no, not short-content video compounding our inability to comprehend events in real-time encroaching from the immense to the mundane bro
Not a good development for those who enjoy a shared concept of perceived reality lol
