"Strengthening Our Foundation – A Call for Unity in PLU Uganda" "To my fellow patriots and members of the Patriotic League of Uganda, As we move forward in our mission to revitalize the spirit of good citizenship across our beloved nation, I am writing to remind us of the most critical pillar of our work: Unity. When we rebranded from the MK Movement to the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), we didn't just change our name; we reaffirmed our commitment to being a non-partisan, non-denominational, and non-sectarian force for progress. Our strength lies in our diversity. We are a home for every Ugandan, regardless of tribe, religion, or political background, who shares a deep love for this country and a desire to see it thrive. Why Unity is Our Priority Right Now: Beyond Individual Interests: Our cause is bigger than any single person. We are building a sustainable foundation for Uganda’s independence, sovereignty, and socio-economic development. Combating Division: We must actively reject the politics of hatred and tribalism. As General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has emphasized, true development begins with character, honesty, and respect for one another. Collective Action: Whether we are fighting corruption, protecting our environment, or assisting the vulnerable, we can only achieve results if we stand as one disciplined body. Stability for the Future: Unity is the only way to safeguard the progress Uganda has made over the last 40 years. Disorganization and internal power struggles only serve to weaken our impact. Let us remember our core values: Patriotism, Integrity, Service, and Discipline. I urge every coordinator, mobilizer, and member to reach out to one another, resolve conflicts through respectful dialogue, and keep our eyes on the ultimate goal, a revitalized and progressively improving Uganda. Under your command, the @MODVA_UPDF has continued to strengthen its professionalism, discipline, and operational readiness. You vowed from day one to fight corruption and mismanagement of resources while improving soldiers' welfare and your decisive actions have inspired confidence across the forces and the nation. Key highlights include: - Advancing military modernization and infrastructure, such as the state-of-the-art SFC Operations Centre, ongoing development of the Defence Headquarters in Mbuya, and enhancements to training, mobility, and technology integration for a more capable 21st-century force. - Fostering stronger regional security cooperation and defence diplomacy, reinforcing Uganda's role in counter-terrorism, stability in the region (including ongoing efforts in Somalia, DRC, and beyond), and building international ties that elevate Uganda's strategic posture. - Promoting accountability, ideological refocus, and morale-boosting measures for soldiers, including partial salary enhancements, better resource management, and a renewed emphasis on environmental protection and community projects. - Ensuring national stability, notably overseeing secure and peaceful 2026 general elections with minimal disruptions a testament to the UPDF's discipline and your visionary guidance. - Earning prestigious recognition, such as the African Continental Person of the Year Award for Defence and National Security Excellence, honoring your distinguished service, reforms, and contributions to Uganda's and Africa's security. Your bold, accessible, and people-centered approach has energized the UPDF, built loyalty among troops, and projected strength while maintaining unwavering commitment to national unity, peace, and the gains of the revolution. Thank you for your selfless service, dedication to our soldiers, and tireless efforts to secure a stronger, more prosperous Uganda. May God continue to guide and bless you in your vital role. As we approach the swearing in ceremony for H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, we salute the pivotal role played by the MK Movement / PLU not only in securing this historic landslide victory for Mzee but also in leveling the ground for NRM at large. Uganda emerged from the 2021 election with a frustrated youthful population that had been suffocated by prolonged Covid 19 restrictions. Also a good number of youths mainly in the central region urban areas had developed some kind of hope in Bobi Wine for a quick transition. From around 2018 to 2021, it had become a taboo & out of fashion for youths to identify with NRM or show up anywhere in yellow. For many tertiary institutions, one had to be on an opposition ticket to win a leadership position. This is regardless of whether these young leaders believed in opposition or not. In central region areas, even NRM politicians had to appear opposition to please voters. You may recall that many NRM MPs had started wearing red berrates! The NRM Secretariat, long accustomed to public engagement only during election seasons (and often budget driven), appeared to lack fresh strategies to reconnect with the youth. Yet, the tide turned dramatically. Someone had to come up with something extraordinary. A well tailored political strategy to avert the situation. Thanks to Gen @mkainerugaba and the MK Armies! The nationwide MK birthday celebrations in 2022 initially criticized by some NRM historicals proved transformative. These events eased the lingering tensions from 2020/2021 electioneering and post COVID stress, fostering constant public interaction that gave birth to the broader MK Movement. Through innovative, grassroots activities such as Barazas, Usafi days, sports tournaments, informal sector outreach, and more, the Movement delivered the decisive blow to NUP's urban dominance. By early 2023, for the first time in years, huge crowds of youths in yellow, smoothly held mobilization activities in the notorious Kiseka market. The rest, as they say, is history. Every city, every municipality, every township across the country, caught the MK Movement fire! During the 2026 campaigns, I witnessed firsthand how the PLU logo became the most unifying symbol nationwide. NRM candidates, independents, and even some opposition figures embraced it, a proof of PLU's deep entrenchment across political divides. When Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba directed all his supporters to rally behind Mzee, PLU cadres responded instantly and voluntarily. Without waiting for any facilitation, we mobilized relentlessly, on the ground and online. Today I am not just joining millions of Ugandans to celebrate Mzee's win. I am proud that the journey we started immediately after 2021 as a continuation of earlier efforts, delivered the biggest victory in history. From neutralizing radical opposition on social media & on ground, to reviving the glory of the yellow color, forming MK Movement structures which were later used to support NRM under 'Tuko Pamoja', I am proud of the journey that we have been part of. Peaceful transfer of power is part of civilization this is why in Uganda, elections are held every after five years to allow people choose their leaders, the mistake Obote did was to think he could manipulate elections which forced Mzei @KagutaMuseveni and others to use brutal force.

We extend our sincere gratitude for your steadfast role in securing our borders and ensuring the safety and stability of our nation. Thank you for overseeing the security of the 2026 General Elections, making them among the safest since independence. Your commitment to strengthening soldiers’ training and improving their welfare continues to uplift morale and professionalism within the forces. We also commend your leadership in advancing key infrastructure, including the ongoing construction and development of the Defence Headquarters in Mbuya, as well as your efforts in building strong international ties making you a reliable and respected diplomat for Uganda on the global stage. But look bro,like you were dissatisfied with how Hon.@AnitahAmong was running the office of the speaker,came out confidently and questioned her,it's the same way some PLU members are dissatisfied with how Hon.Kabanda is running the office of Secretary General PLU. Should we also assume that perhaps,there were senior leaders within @NRMOnline who had been angered by President @KagutaMuseveni's confidence in Hon.Among that were paying or using you to "attack or abuse" [holding her accountable] her?

Well said Mr. @FrankGashumba, this is the real truth i talked about and Kabanda called me a squirrel, eventually, Gen. @mkainerugaba account unfollowed me [Probably was under the management of a Pro Kabanda person who thought that we could DM these issues]. But nevertheless, we move on. The man has made many run away from PLU, and he fools people that they are ministerial fights or we are paid, he forgets that some of us are open minded people who can never keep quiet when someone is failing the idea that we love and loved most....
