"The scandals that engulfed the 11th Parliament were not minor lapses but monumental betrayals of public trust." Buses procured for the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference vanished into thin air, only for one to resurface at Bukedea Comprehensive School, with altered number plates, a damning evidence of deliberate concealment.  phoenix-browser.com/JV1DrUI3OPZ

By standing firm like a rock to #SaveParliament Hon Norbert Mao @norbertmao is shaking the Anita Among @AnitahAmong money tree and loads of money is falling down for all and sundry to pick. We therefore invite all social influencers to offer their services to Anita Among in order eat ko something before the voting day. Don’t miss out on this cash bonanza. But know that the latest Memo shows that she is damaged goods and will not be on the ballot. Chairman Mao @norbertmao will be a consensus candidate to promote consensual democracy. @Parliament_Ug @GovUganda @pwatchug @KagutaMuseveni @mkainerugaba @NRMOnline

𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 / 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐇.𝐄. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢 𝐊𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐭𝐚 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢 Your Excellency, @KagutaMuseveni , I join millions of patriotic Ugandans in thanking you for boldly declaring that the upcoming cabinet will put a total end to 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and the taking of bribes in any form. Your recognition that corruption remains the single biggest obstacle to our country’s progress is both timely and courageous. After decades of warnings, the time has now come for decisive, uncompromising action. We urge you, Mr. President, to be firm and ruthless in this fight. The torrent of corrupt ministers and officials who have undermined service delivery, stolen public resources, and eroded public trust must be shown the door. Let this new cabinet (you will soon appoint) be remembered as the one that finally broke the back of graft. Exclude anyone with credible corruption allegations no exceptions, no sacred cows. The people are watching and expecting a clean government that delivers results. In this noble mission, I strongly appeal to you to adopt the zero-tolerance approach demonstrated by CDF Gen. @mkainerugaba in the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs. Since assuming command, Gen. Muhoozi has shown strong, intolerant leadership against corruption. Reports indicate that corruption in the ministry has reduced dramatically (by up to 85%), billions of shillings have been saved, and accountability has been restored. His firm stance, arresting suspects, court-martialing offenders, and prioritizing integrity has become a shining example of what determined leadership can achieve. Your Excellency, if the entire @GovUganda can mirror this level of intolerance to corruption, Uganda will finally turn the corner. We the citizens are ready to support you fully in this renewed war against graft. Let the new cabinet be one of integrity, competence, and service to the nation. Long live Uganda! Long live the anti-corruption crusade! Thank you, Mr. President.

Could this be the real ‘Kisanja hakuna muchezo’? The choice of the Speaker of Uganda’s 12th Parliament will serve as a critical early indicator of the kind of government the president aspires to have for 2026-2031.

INSIDE PARLIAMENT 🚨🚨 Serious concerns have been raised about recruitment and promotion practices in the Parliament of Uganda. Long-serving staff and experienced interns report stagnation in the same positions for years, while new external recruits are appointed directly into senior roles. This has caused frustration and low morale. Despite departments repeatedly citing lack of funds for hiring or contract renewals, new employees have continued to join since 2022. Stakeholders are demanding urgent clarification from the Office of the Clerk to Parliament on: -The total number of staff recruited since 2022 -The criteria used for hiring and promotions -Reasons why experienced internal staff and long-serving interns are overlooked -Whether all recruitments follow transparent and competitive procedures Failure to address these issues risks undermining staff morale and public confidence in the institution. Greater transparency and accountability are being urged. @KagutaMuseveni @mkainerugaba @AnitahAmong @ChrisObore1 @Parliament_Ug @pwatchug

Setting corruption allegations aside, during my interactions with several re-elected MPs at the MK birthday dinner at Skyz Hotel, I observed a consistent sentiment: Every one of them believes they could have been a far better Speaker than the current holder. Yet they all regard @norbertmao as a class apart. The question for the 12th Parliament is simple: Will we finally choose the best Speaker possible, or give mockery another chance? @Parliament_Ug

Imagine the implications of spying on the President..what could her intentions possibly be? What if she is planning a coup? Such a matter cannot be treated lightly. National security agencies must approach it with the utmost seriousness and vigilance.

But what would be the motive behind a speaker tapping into the President's conversations? This is a matter of National Security that shouldn't be taken lightly! @KagutaMuseveni @mkainerugaba

In a time when Uganda’s Parliament must rise above partisan interests and deliver institutional integrity, Hon @norbertmao stands out as the most credible, experienced, and unifying candidate for Speaker of the 12th Parliament.

The facts are staring us in the face, and no amount of silence will bury them. Hon.Cissy Namujju a chief campaigner for Anita Among ,was imprisoned for 53 days on corruption charges under the watch of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Dickson Kateshumbwa another key mobilizer in the same camp was previously pushed out of URA over corruption concerns before resurfacing in politics. Now ask yourself,is this coincidence, or a pattern? When the people at the center of a political project are consistently linked to corruption allegations, what does that say about the leadership they are fighting for? What does it say about the institution they now dominate? Today, Parliament under Anita Among is increasingly viewed not as a house of accountability, but as a sanctuary of impunity. This is no longer whispers ,it’s visible, it’s public, and as many are saying, even the blind can see it. If president @KagutaMuseveni is truly committed to fighting corruption, then the starting point cannot be selective. You don’t fight corruption in fragments. You don’t fight it in speeches. You fight it where it is strongest. And right now, all roads point to Parliament. The question is simple, will the fight against corruption begin at the top or is it just another slogan?

I have observed some voices defending a candidate in the Speaker’s race by acknowledging her corruption but praising her ‘generosity’ and ‘giving heart.’ This puzzles me. True generosity comes from honest means. If someone steals trillions and gives away only a million shillings, that is not generosity, it is mockery and public theft disguised as charity. Corruption is a destructive vice that no right-thinking Ugandan, beneficiary or not, should glorify or excuse it. Leadership must be judged by integrity and service to all, not by selective handouts from stolen public funds. Which is why #Mao4Speaker

Dear esteemed citizens of Uganda, and particularly our distinguished Members-elect of the 12th Parliament, As you consider supporting the candidacy of @norbertmao for Speaker, it is imperative to gain a comprehensive understanding of his character and leadership philosophy. A profound insight into his values, principles, and unwavering commitment can be gleaned from the farewell address he delivered to the 7th Parliament in 2006, at the age of 39, following a decade of dedicated and principled service. This individual voluntarily departed from Parliament at the zenith of his career, not due to electoral defeat or rejection, but to return to his home district of Gulu and contribute to its post-conflict recovery. He prioritized self-sacrifice over personal comfort and dedicated service over elevated status. He now seeks to return to the esteemed legislative body he once served with such distinction, with the objective of reinstating integrity and decorum within its proceedings. @KagutaMuseveni @mkainerugaba @Parliament_Ug
