@CatharineAquino @ABRF @10xGenomics I see a few folks vying for c-suite love these days. Why? I don't get the big attraction. Do most people even know who they are? Are the c-suite making product decisions?

Before this year, I believe I've met only 1 major genomics C-level exec @abrf (2 years ago) and that's Serge Saxonov from @10xGenomics . Is this why 10X products are user friendly and generally "in touch" with what the community needs?

Cores are not "cheating" on @illumina when we buy other sequencers.Were we in a committed relationship?Cores were committed due to lack of choice but it's different now and it's our duty to look for alternates when needs are not met. No worries,we are not swiping left yet =)

@AntoBeck @ashgeorge01 @illumina Less than $10 Aussie per Gb. I remember when that was S4 NovaSeq prices. Things seem to be changing at Illumina. Including the website, which is faster but horrible to navigate.

My friend @ashgeorge01 "the NovaSeq feeder" from the @illumina Innovation Collective lab in Melbourne ran a P4 flow cell last week. 80Gb above spec or about 200M reads. Awesome stuff. #genomics #NextSeq 2000 #XLEAP_SBS

How many Revios does it take to sequence 10K biobank samples over how many years? Does the biobank have pure, high molecular weight DNA stored away in those freezers?

Curious to know what illumina enables with their protein prep platform that we couldn’t already get (especially as soma + array = higher plex)

@GenomicsCow Doesn't bother me. They are allowed to remember their past lives too. I bet you often bring up old time stories of days back in the lab. I prefer the soft selling of scientists over the hard sell of sales people.

Does anyone have the history… Why did illumina beat complete genomics (v1 of the company)?
Was it Illunina’s scalability of installing instruments and selling kits that outpaced Conplete’s service model at the time?
