@bbcsoutheast Your headline is wrong! It affects people living and working in Kent etc. the new scheme reaches out into the countryside surrounding London, right up to the M25. What’s worse is nobody outside of London was consulted.

@MayorofLondon In 2018 when @TfL were bringing in 20 MPH zones they said “over 75% of road transport particulate emissions come from tyre-and brake-wear, not exhausts. This means driving style is an increasingly important determinant of overall air quality.” So where does that leave ULEZ?

Ulez is divisive, it separates town & country. It makes coming into our cities more expensive. If our trains were much cheaper & more reliable this might be justified for personal trips, though never for tradespeople, but as they are neither it isn’t.

To anyone committed to the long term use and reuse of any item or resource, and understanding the issue of embedded energy, @ulez_london fells like a travesty. So many cars will be scrapped and so many resources wasted. It can’t be right.
