It was pushed into trust, pushed into disarmament, pushed into promises that were supposed to mean something. Now Russia is trying to erase the country that gave up the weapons meant to prevent exactly this. So yes. Helping Ukraine win is not charity. It is paying back a promise the West should never have let Moscow break.
