Tanzania's two largest banks have overtaken their Kenyan counterparts in market value for the first time ever, as East Africa's corporate landscape shifts in ways few anticipated.
CRDB Bank and NMB Bank have both surged from under $1bn to $2.7bn in a single year, while the number of East African companies valued at more than $1bn has risen from 8 to 14. Safaricom remains the region's dominant force, but Tanzania's growing influence is a standout story.

People are so performative on here, and that’s exactly why I mind my business. Y’all are still tweeting on the very app Elon owns, still ordering from Amazon, shopping at Target, carrying iPhones, using Dove products… the list goes on. But somehow people pick and choose what spending gets judged.
Congrats on your car though!

he should have been more careful
he seemed to miscalculate the train distance and tried to rush
sad 😿
English

@GeoffMarkets @mrdarren_t @MyXusedtobeTwit @ABC you can hear trains from hundreds of meters away though. there's no way he wouldn't have heard this large loco unless he had severe hearing issues
i can even tell which model is passing my house about 300 meters away from the sound.

A locomotive struck a septic truck crossing the tracks in Chesapeake, Virginia, sending the truck flying and leaving the driver with life-threatening injuries. abcnews.link/Ta3gLdH
English

@GeoffMarkets @MyXusedtobeTwit @ABC I disagree, there’s clear visibility and even if there wasn’t, the driver should approach with caution as they can see the tracks. I refer again to the extremely loud horn.

English

@GeoffMarkets @MyXusedtobeTwit @ABC There’s almost always a pretty forgiving area between the intended stop line and the actual tracks where there’s no trees, so the driver should have stopped for longer to check.
