My entire life I have been a massive women's basketball fan. My love for the game began when I attended UConn women's bball games with my Mom as a young boy. My mom was my role model and someone who broke gender barriers in her own career and this extended to her love and advocacy of women's sports. She grew up as a great basketball player herself but there were very few avenues for her to pursue this passion back in the 1950s and 1960s. So it brought her great joy decades later to see girls and women succeed both collegiately and professionally. Fast forward to today and while my Mom is no longer with us, I know she is smiling down seeing the heights to which women's basketball has risen - not just as an avocation but a seriously successful vocation. It is for this reason that I am proud to be part of the @BessemerVP team leading the Series B financing of @Unrivaledwbb . In less than two years, the Unrivaled co-founders (@alexbazzell , @lukecooperhoops , @PHEEsespieces and @breannastewart ) have built the league into one of the fast-growing and most exciting in sports.
