Just wanted to highlight the ridiculous reality of many of my fellows at Durham and to remind anyone who is still in academia that even if still early career, we have a platform to use well! ❤️

Considering other expectations placed on nonwhite students (eg. atm Ramadan) or gaps in knowledge because of white privilege is nothing new, but remembering to centre this in pedagogy is so so important

For all academics on my twitter (especially if white) : the suffering of Black students is part of our duty of care, so we (me included) need to anticipate & react outside the classroom vocally to discourage institutional racism esp. when there's a culture of it like in Durham
