@markasaurus Have one on my Brampton and regret it. More cost, weight and especially drag on the wheel which makes the bike feel slower. Battery powered lights are a better option. However if you don’t mind these cons and are happy to always have light then the dynamo is very reliable.

@SukritGanesh Just pan left and you will see a 40 mile long bike path, multiple grocery stores, mall and offices, the works. Lots of new homes planned in that area as well. For all the sprawl of San Ramon they are building out a good city center.

@DavidZipper Wish there was a higher threshold for the 30% rebate applied to family bikes designed to carry 2 or more people. Most affordable family bike start at 2-3k.

BREAKING: The federal e-bike bill is BACK. A new proposal would give Americans up to $1,500 off a new e-bike. This bill is similar to its predecessor, which came tantalizingly close to passing last year. BUT there are some key differences. 🧵 panetta.house.gov/media/press-re…

I have to seriously question this. Natural gas is methane, which on combustion, produces carbon dioxide and water which is omnipresent in air. Mercaptans, a sulfur based organic compound found in such things as asparagus, when combusted, produce sulfur oxides, but in the...

Gas stoves are toxic to people’s health. They cause asthma in children, cardiac problems & other disease. They need to be phased out.

@prinzrob You can’t even ride a class 1 bikeway to DT pleasant hill? Existing trails are only 2 blocks away. The PH plan is clearly lacking in vision.

What does a bike plan mean when the outcomes are so dependent on support from local electeds & staff, as opposed to measurable goals around safety, equity, access, and connectivity? These are too important to leave to the whims of individuals. We need policy safeguards.

Two East Bay bike plan drafts nearing completion, Emeryville & Pleasant Hill, both by the same consultant group. Former has protected bikeways, trails & traffic calmed neighborhood routes w/in just 1.2 sq mi. Latter has no protected bikeways & a LOT of sharrows-only bike routes.

this @TerryMoran thread makes a critical point usually lost in the daily bullshit news flow national security is a president's core responsibility Biden and his team have aced their biggest national security test so far (all the more striking w/Trump on the anti-American side)
Terry Moran 🇺🇸@TerryMoran

It may be worth saying something out loud here. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is obviously the greatest international security crisis since 9/11. And, at this point, it’s got to be said that Joe Biden and his team have handled it masterfully. 1/

NEOM is a perfect example that you can't just build a city, let alone a global city on endless money. I realize its intended to compete with Dubai, but Dubai had natural advantages that the money helped along. I am for hire for advising though MBS. bloomberg.com/features/2022-…

Here’s a funny/rage-inducing story about a tree, a dipshit pool vendor, and a city official. A few years ago, we bought a housing project that was in really tough shape. High vacancy, lots of crime, rundown buildings, etc. and we fixed it up.
