Shopify Editions 2023 was full of big updates for the app ecosystem last week. None bigger in my opinion the Shopify Subscriptions App. I asked Piyush Jain, CEO of @LoopEngine, for his reactions/thoughts on how merchants and the app ecosystem should be thinking about this. 👉 His take: Don't panic. This is a good thing for the ecosystem. Software is a commodity at the end of the day and as such Shopify's entrance into the space only further legitimizes the importance of subscriptions and best practices around it. This entrance gives merchants who aren't ready to turn to the app ecosystem quite yet an opportunity to see the value in subscriptions, and when they're ready, turn to best-in-class solutions in the app ecosystem. I definitely agree with this sentiment and it's exciting to see Shopify raising the bar for us all to continue to innovate and build the best possible solutions for merchants! 💡 Let me know what you think of the Subscriptions app below!
