@LemonadeUpgrade @mel0nFPS It's a trap. Friction testing with machinery is a fools errand due to the huge amount of variables. Friction numbers might look scientific, but since they're not translatable from user to user, they're not better than the comparisons pad reviewers have been doing for years.

Slide-tests showing a mouse sliding at an angle across a pad is one of the worst ways of showing a mousepad's glide, as it doesn't represent the pad's true feel when hand weight is added, nor does it reflect added Z-axis frictions from soft or x-soft bases (1/3).

@mel0nFPS Completely agree. Really no single test is perfect due to the huge amount of variables (downward pressure being one), even with machinery. I've been busy recently but I think you might like something I'm working on relating to this topic. I'll reach out when it's nearly ready

for anyone whos been waiting to play these imo they are in a very good state after todays update! there are very few scenario changes i have left to make and pretty accurate score targets for the easier, medium and harder difficulties hope u all are enjoying the new benches <3

@AimerLew @Ausmodshop Yeah the PD pads are the heaviest cloth pads I've tried. The base is the firmest I've measured (at 54 Shore A). Surprised people don't talk about them more!

Congrats to @EloShapes on their launch! On a similar note, findmymouse.com is out of beta and available to the public. A lot of you have been asking me what my plan is now that EloShapes is also doing 3D scans... the answer is: nothing changed! I think that competition is good. I'm a mouse nerd and a LONG TIME EloShapes user, so the more options I get as a user, the better. I really think that my vision and EloShapes, though, is fundamentally different. I've had the domain for FMM for years, I have a much larger platform in mind compared to what I built so far. The 3D scans are the necessary step for my vision, not the end goal: they never were. I am also very proud of the fact that I've been able to scan at least 5 mice in full color EVERY DAY with my own pipeline, and I think I will easily have almost full coverage of the mice people would want on the website within months. Check the video for the mice I've added in just the last few days, all textured. Apart from some of the features I've mentioned before (like the virtual hand/grip), FMM is meant to be kind of a "MyAnimeList" for mice, so that you can share your profile, like this: findmymouse.com/u/bardoz, and then later on leverage this curated list of mice you build for yourself to be shown even more mice you might like. FMM is also a tool for reviewers and anyone that wants to share their opinions on mice. Links like this: findmymouse.com/s/wooden-geran… allow you to easily share your specific points about a mouse via the annotations, viewpoint sharing and measurements. And of course, as I've said since the beginning, I will use FMM to centralize all my hard testing about sensors, dpi, and such, so that you'll be able to find EVERYTHING about a mouse, including the raw results of my standardized sensor implementation testing. So, with this said, I will keep scanning as many mice as possible and adding as many features as possible until FMM becomes what I envisioned so long ago. Join my discord if you want to keep up! For context to this tweet, I discovered that AI is using my videos as sources, meaning if someone asks AI a question about a mouse I've covered, the AI is essentially just repeating what I say without sourcing my content, meaning I'm not getting views, or revenue.

@mel0nFPS I would understand that move. The challenge is juggling visibility/user growth and monetisation in a way that is fair and equitable for all. Perhaps short high-level overviews for free, with frequent but cheap fees for in-depth reviews will start to become a new normalised method

@GetMouseCTRL I totally agree. What RTINGS did makes a lot of sense, seeing as AI is constantly scraping their work too. I've even considered doing something similar with my channel, seeing as it's becoming a much more frequent issue than I expected.

Just an FYI to the people scraping my content: I’m WELL aware of what you’re doing. And if your two semi-functioning brain cells can tell AI to steal my work, you are FULLY capable of rewriting it in your own words. Repeating what I say word-for-word is just sad honestly.

decided to check out the website, its a mousepad recomender, like a really good site, put budget, currency, location, speed and smoothness, and itll just find it for you, it just doesnt find glasspads which sucks

Glass pads are on the roadmap - but they require some comparison engine tweaks. My @KovaaKs scores have suffered since launching MouseCTRL though - I don't get much time to play anymore! I appreciate the community support!

@ch0miczeq @A1cr_Official They are more niche, but also it would require a good amount of work to our comparison engine. We have a feature that lets users compare mosuepads side-by-side and see weave, texture, speed, etc comparisons. Speed & texture comparisons for a cloth vs glass pad are challenging

@A1cr_Official they arent priority i think as most of them are limited time drops so its less usefull and brings less traction to website
