@lorigracewx I do agree with what you're saying. My Kankakee footage paid for a good portion of my season through yt ad revenue. But it's not something you can consistently rely on.

@Get_EMLd Definitely. I'm speaking for the average chaser who still has the potential to make a few bucks off some great content. Plus trying to do things differently than others give you space to enjoy the chase hopefully.

Remember if you even remotely hope to sell your storm footage to the networks or through a broker, you don't want to be side by side with 30 other chasers shooting the same content. Trust your feelings, Luke. Use the force. Try to capture a unique perspective.

Looking to sell my Canon R10 and Sony AX53. I used these in 2024 and then in 2025 I upgraded and have been mostly sitting unused since then. DM for inquiries. $1200 for the R10 + EFS 18-135mm + EFS 10-18mm lenses $650 for the AX53 $650 for the RF 100-400mm lens

@robsohioweather Autofocus works fine until I'm shooting through a rainy windshield, but it's good practice to keep it on manual focus anyway.

@Get_EMLd Oh hell yeah that’s pretty sick. What about focus too? I always had problems with the 43 losing focus all the time considering how low contrast things can be

@robsohioweather I think it is. You have much more control of your video too. You can manually control the exposure, f stop, and shutter speed too.

@Get_EMLd Is it really that much of an upgrade over the 43/53? If I remember correctly it has a better sensor which would make sense for the colors and whatnot

@robsohioweather I LOVE my AX700. I managed to buy it used for about $1200. But I think they've been running a bit higher than that lately.

@Get_EMLd Hmmm I had the same sort of concerns with the ACX43. I wonder if there are any good camcorder options that handle that better but aren’t like insane cinematic camera prices

@robsohioweather It's a good camera. What made me upgrade was that I did want more out of the colors. They felt not vibrant/saturated enough to me.
