@JustonStrmRider @SimonStormRider I know Rozel is one of the best examples of it working. I think Mulvane was too? I’m assuming the setups that don’t slop out are the ones where the moisture profile isn’t a horribly mixed inverted v.

Since you mentioned it, might as well go into some of the misnomers regarding “just in time” moisture setups. There are plenty of examples like this one where the “just in time” moisture did end up working out, even though I’ve seen discourse with people saying they never pan out. That isn’t entirely true, as you can see here. What ultimately determine if “just in time” moisture works is what is the storm mode when the moisture finally arrives. These types of setups fail when everything becomes an outflow dominant slopfest before the moisture gets there. Once convection has become that, it normally is a point of no return. If relatively isolated supercells develop and then remain when the good air arrives, then things can get crazy pretty quickly.

#weatherpicofday @JustonStrmRider & I documented 3 twisters from a cyclic supercell Southwest of San Antonio, Texas OTD 14 years ago, March 19, 2012. The most significant tornado (pictured) hit the community of Devine. #TXwx

When you’re chasing this year, really try to eat at local restaurants. The world doesn’t need more Chipotle’s or Starbucks. It needs more original and locally owned restaurants

Global models agree that severe weather is unlikely through the end of March. But as others have noted, the beginning of April is looking quite interesting. The Euro is forecasting a move into the “tornado hot zone” (Phases 1 & 2) of the Madden-Julian Oscillation. We shall see!

@Get_EMLd @tornadotrx @oldscarf1stweek No. Nothing from the 2020s can compete with a day where you could have seen damn near a dozen visible/photogenic tornadoes that were all easily chaseable within a 100 mile radius AND on a great road network.
