As a pilot, this is one of the most important parts of the $RKLB–$IRDM story. GNSS jamming can degrade or remove satellite positioning. Spoofing is even more dangerous: it can make aircraft systems believe a false position is real. Iridium’s new 8×8 mm PNT chip is designed to add a secure reference from its LEO constellation, helping detect when conventional GNSS data cannot be trusted. It doesn’t replace GPS—it adds a resilient backup and verification layer. More than 150 organizations have already requested evaluation hardware. If Rocket Lab’s acquisition closes, it won’t simply be buying satellites. It will enter the business of protecting the navigation and timing infrastructure on which aviation and the modern world depend. $RKLB / $IRDM: Targeting widespread vulnerabilities in global satellite navigation, Iridium Communications announced the broad commercial availability of its first-to-market Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (PNT ASIC). The commercial push follows an unprecedented pre-order pipeline, with more than 150 international logistics, maritime, unmanned systems, aviation, and defense industrial base organizations requesting evaluation hardware since the module’s initial preview in late October 2025. Once the Goonhilly deal closes, an IM–L3Harris team could offer Space Force an end-to-end cislunar architecture: $LUNR/Lanteris spacecraft platforms and ground communications, combined with L3Harris sensors, payloads and in-orbit systems. Fewer interfaces, proven heritage and a very competitive bid. This would turn the promised synergies into real contract execution.

@GfXabier A joint proposal between IM and L3Harris to support Space Force’s endeavors in CisLunar space, for example, would be amazing to see and realizes these synergies. IM providing the ground comms (Goonhilly) and L3Harris’ in-orbit assets. They would have a very competitive bid.

There is an interesting relationship between L3Harris and Intuitive Machines. IM provides the satellite buses to L3Harris for SDA Tranches 1, 2 and 3 and L3Harris provides the helium pressure tanks to IM for the Nova-C landers (see link attached). Seeing a supplier / vendor relationship going both ways isn’t overly common. This is one that i have speculations about and will be researching / observing closer. l3harris.com/newsroom/edito…

For us pilots, this is where the logic behind the $RKLB–$IRDM deal becomes tangible. Jamming removes the GPS signal; spoofing is worse—it can make the aircraft trust a false position, affecting the FMS, ADS-B and TAWS. Iridium PNT could provide an independent, trusted cross-check. Certification is key.

$RKLB / $KTOS: Stifel notes today that Kratos securing a massive $400M Department of War award is a massive positive read-through for Rocket Lab. Kratos designs the advanced hypersonic payloads while Rocket Lab’s HASTE flies them. Rocket Lab announced in March that under MACH-TB 2.0 Task Area 1, led by Kratos, they will perform 20 hypersonic test flights with its HASTE launch vehicle over a four-year period. More funding for Kratos hypersonic systems should translate directly into a surge of high-margin launch contracts for Rocket Lab.

Imagine everyone paid too much for toy rockets because they thought the toys would become incredibly valuable. Then the biggest toy SpaceX went on sale, so investors sold the smaller ones to buy it. In simple terms: * Space stocks rose too far, too fast. * SpaceX’s IPO pulled money away from smaller companies. * Many space companies still lose money and need more funding. * Once selling started, traders sold the entire sector like one basket. The companies didn’t all suddenly become worse. This is mainly a valuation reset after excessive excitement and profit-taking.

Important clarification: The $SPCX 20 Starlink V3 satellites deployed on Starship Flight 13 will share Starship’s suborbital trajectory. They’ll test array and antenna deployment, communications and heat-shield imaging before being destroyed on reentry ~20 minutes later. #space #starlink #spacex
