Vibe coding a mobile app is easy, but vibe coding an agent is not. I'm building an agent that replies to Airbnb guests on WhatsApp, based on past conversations and the properties' knowledge base. It's. Not. Easy. I mean, the easy part is the code: I use @LangChain and it took me literally one day to set it up, with multiple specialized agents that interact in a ReAct loop. The real challenge is getting the agents to actually do what you want, with the tone you need (remembering stuff, forgetting the right stuff, and retrieving the right information). All this without overflowing the context window or having huge prompts that try to handle everything. My solution was setting up a skills-like system where the agents retrieve instructions on how to behave in specific cases, on demand. This way, I keep the prompts light, and they can just load the instructions they need for troubleshooting Wi-Fi, handling an early check-in, or explaining the luggage policy... There are still a lot of things to tweak and work to do, but it's taking shape! But vibe coding a deterministic app is way easier than coding an agent!

@thsottiaux @steipete I have a project where frontend and backend are in two different repos. Would be nice to have better handling for it. Now Codex has to work in the root folder, but then file changes are not shown nor any git actions

@senoldoganx I know it's not much to work with, but it's literally this: I start the app and the icon appears in the top bar. Then I click on it. The icon disappears (puff!), the app crashes and just exits. No error, nothing.

@buildItN0w No, with the new pricing, I run out of $20 in one day! The old pricing was way better, of course. But I didn't want to commit to another year without assurance that I could keep the old pricing. $20 of Codex are worth way more, becasue they reset every week anyway

When we set up @Cloudflare last month, I didn’t expect the side-effect of me and many of our customers being unable to access our website whenever a major football match is on. I think this collective feeling of "I don't enjoy coding anymore because it's so easy with AI" is good to talk about and realize, and I have it too I miss going to bed with a coding challenge I have to get through and then wake up and in the shower I get the answer and I scream EUREKA!!!!! But then you quickly just have to accept that the world has permanently changed now and it's just not going back because letting AI code for you is simply so much faster and effective and will only get better with every passing year So the better mental approach for me to these things is to just aggressively embrace it and change myself instead, if the fun in solving the challenges is gone, where else can I find the fun? I'm lucky a bit because for me the fun has always been building new things in general, not so much the coding part, although the coding challenges were fun for me too. But having ideas and just building new things was always the most fun. So I have to double down on that now, making more things and making better things and making them much faster than before. Especially now that literally everyone in the world has access to the same coding skill as everyone else (which is AI), the focus will have to aggressively be on what remains as a differentiator for me as a creator, which is my ideas and the way I execute them, not coding them So that's what I will try focus on from now on I think
