Our work in @J_A_C_S tackles a long-standing puzzle in nucleic acid photophysics: long-lived excited states in pyrimidine nucleobases. We show the intermediate is a metastable ground-state species with a twisted C=C bond, not an excited state! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

Our latest work is now out in the Journal of Physical Chemistry C, which elucidates the energy and charge transfer dynamics in an oligothiophene-squaraine hybrid aggregate to generate a charge-separated state that lives over 8 ns. @patra_group @JPhysChem pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
